SUP Mob FSP Pro

Program
A compact, high-performance board that shines in soft to medium waves, flying from section to section.
Presentation
The Mob is designed for speed and flow, excelling in waves that need extra drive.
It unlocks a modern surf style—powerful snaps, smooth cutbacks, stylish 360s, and big airs—even in mushy, windy, or shifty conditions.
This lively, compact shape is a true powerhouse, delivering instant speed and rebound—a turbo boost for waves that don’t naturally fire, letting you throw down big moves with ease.
Despite its compact size, it paddles efficiently thanks to its fast rocker. The nose remains smooth and buoyant, making it easy to get through waves. Plus, its relatively wide ends provide stability while waiting for waves. This allows you to ride a shorter board while gaining more reactivity and playfulness.
In the surf, it catches waves early for its size, thanks to its wide tail that gets pushed by the wave and its nose that glides effortlessly through the water.
From the very first pump, you’ll feel its lightness and high performance, driven by its natural acceleration. For pros, it’s a rocket in sluggish conditions. For intermediates, that instant speed makes every section easier to attack.
After take off, this board does it all—flowy carves, sharp tricks, and everything in between. The ultimate move? Build speed, lay into a deep carve, and fire straight back into action. Pure joy.
Patrice Guénolé has dialed in the Mob year after year, unlocking even more drive and responsiveness by refining the nose and tail—without changing what makes it magic.
The Mob’s rail-to-rail flow is unreal. It rolls smoothly from edge to edge, just like a surfboard. Super responsive—way more than its outline might suggest. But as with any great shape, the magic is in the details.
Available in 8 sizes—7’2, 7’6, 7’11, and 8’3—each comes in a Cool version for extra volume and a Rad version with less volume for experienced riders looking to max out performance.
More drive, more snap, even in weaker waves—that’s what makes the Mob special.
OUTLINE
The board’s outline is more compact, with a size range that’s less spread out in terms of length. Even the higher-volume models stay true to a small-board feel. Maximum compactness!
The volume distribution gives a very fluid and natural flow to this Mob, without any ruptures or camel deck. It has a beautiful glide and predictable drive.
The deck plan is domed for thin rails all the way down the board. We have volume in the center and a very thin shaped frame on the rails, synonymous with performance and elegance.
NOSE
The round nose is less bulky when carving down a steep section, and the reduced surface lightens the first third of the board: the radicalism is progressing strongly and the feeling of liveliness is crazy.
TAIL
The swallow tail brings radicalism to the surf without compromising on control. It offers strong support on one rail and the other, while freeing up the tail when you want to pitch up the board on a top turn, or tighten the turns. This is because the excess of water pressure can escape into the V of the swallow tail while letting the tips guide the trajectory.
ROCKER
With its hybrid shortboard rocker, the Mob offers enhanced maneuverability and higher speed, especially in small waves.
HULL
The hull is refined year after year, featuring:
A subtle belly at the nose (slight convex) that smooths water flow for easier take-offs and softer, more forgiving transitions.
A simple concave at the center to stabilize the board when paddling and channeling water to the fins to maximize lift and acceleration with an important front foot grip.
A double concave at the fins which will stick to water and tunnel the flow to the outer fins (side fins and quads), aiming for maximum speed!
A slight V with a double concave at the tail to release the flow of water while giving the board a loose rail to rail.
This active hull gives it 50% more performance compared to a flat hull. It might not seem essential but it is crucial to get the best out of the rest of the shape. In a nutshell, the outline spreads the load on water and the hull dictates the directional flow of water.
RAILS
The rails work in concert with the outline and the hull to offer optimal water penetration, nothing is left to chance:
The rail at the nose is super soft to avoid mistakes. It does not hang on to water for total directional freedom on steeper sections, while softening contacts when paddling.
At the center, the rail has a harder edge to guide the board and give better balance when paddling.
The hardest part of the rail is at the fins, more square than at the front. It gives extra precision in turns by defining lift angles, which amount to angle of inclination in the water. That will allow the board to naturally find the optimum inclination when responding to your weight pressure: not too deep or too shallow, just right for maximum grip, control and responsiveness.
The vertical rail at the tail allows for easy take off for even more speed.
The Cool version of this shape is very stable with its generous width.
The Rad version is narrower and therefore faster and more lively.

Buying guide
For whom?
Two possibilities:
1/ You want to shred in smaller waves, without having to use a longboard. The Mob has the speed potential to perform in soft waves like an Alley would do in hollow / steeper waves.
If you are in really good shape and have a really good technique, choose a Mob without too much volume to be able to move it instantly.
2/ You’re pretty chill but do not feel like going for a longboard. You want a board that will work in weak waves, the Mob is for you!
You may also want a board that can do everything, not too technical if you don’t ask for verticality, compact so it fits in the car, very stable when rowing and surfing, and with a modern look. Mob again!
The Mob delivers its best in a very specific wave range. But its main benefit is to allow everyone to surf a small board without any difficulty.
Unlike its flat counterparts, the Mob has some rocker. It’s not complicated at the take off.
For what?
Going from zero to 100 in a few meters in soft waves: that’s where the Mob really shines.
The Mob is all about acceleration. So, it’s the ideal board for riding in soft / weaker waves.
Its compact but harmonious outline, without excess, gives it great fluidity. But it also naturally makes it really well suited for the so-called horizontal moves: snaps, airs, floaters, 360 °.
This new Mob makes it possible to seek verticality and to wrap the turns in a very tight radius. It’s really a very maneuvrable board.
Another strong point of this new version: it holds at high speed and in hollow waves. It does not saturate. This opens up an almost complete register of conditions.
Which size?
- The 90L 7’2 is great for pros up to 70kg.
- The 100L 7’2 is perfect for chill riders up to 70kg.
- The 105L 7’6 is great for pros up to 80kg.
- The 120L 7’6 is perfect for chill riders up to 80kg.
- The 125L 7’11 is ideal for sporty people weighing 70 to 90kg.
- The 140L 7’11 is super comfortable for chill riders between 70 and 90kg.
- The 145L 8’3 is ideal for athletic people over 80kg.
- The 160L 8’3 is super comfortable for chill riders over 80kg.
Which boardbag?
Quiver mates?
We love the Mob for average to mediocre conditions: small waves, choppy waves, weak waves. That’s where it really outperforms other boards.
Obviously it might step over longboard territory, but a longboarder could also want a more compact board from time to time, for example when he encounters waves with very little room to ride and sneaky sections that he needs to catch. The Mob will be there.
The quivers that go well, from small waves to big waves:
- Mob + Karmen or Alley : this is the quiver of the pure shortSUPer.
- NFA + Mob + Karmen : this is the broadest quiver of feelings and range of use.
- A 12’ + Mob + Alley : it is also a huge quiver of feelings and range of use.
The Mob will complete a surf quiver quite easily thanks to its incredible performance in small waves. But one will often hesitate to take it because it is the program of a good fish like the Pie or a Matata. A surfer will certainly want to spend time on his surfboards rather than on a SUP.
Which fin setup?
This board, with its wide tail, is only available in a quad setup—a fast and responsive option for surfers who generate power through their legs.
Stick to classic fin choices; there’s no game-changing advantage in going experimental. A solid set of stiff Performers will do the trick, or swap in Carvers for extra hold and control.
Toledos and Wilsons are fine, Fannings are more powerful for the same size. Bear in mind that these Fins are only sold as Tri-fin sets, which would need to be completed with retail Quads rears.
Take your recommended fin size or just above it. No less. You’re going to need the grip to exploit it.
Reminder of the recommended FCS II Fin sizes:
- XS for those under 55 kg / 120 Lbs
- S for 55 kg – 70 kg / 120 Lbs – 155 Lbs
- M for 65 kg – 80 kg / 145 Lbs – 175 Lbs
- L for 75 kg – 90 kg / 165 Lbs – 200 Lbs
- XL for those over 85 kg / 190 Lbs.
Note that even before the shape, it is the material of the Fins that makes the performance. Keep in mind that the stiffer a Fin is, the better it works. Yes, a pro needs good Fins, but an amateur also needs to go fast because speed is the basis of all manoeuvres.
Never go shorter, except when kiting.
A surfer who wants more speed, to make more beautiful carves, to surf more cleanly, to work on his speed gain, will take one size above the recommended size.
In a setup that mixes sets, consider that the laterals do the grip and acceleration; and the backs do the pivot, drive and some grip. So, focus on good laterals that fit your need for power and speed.
Flat inner-sided Quad rears have more grip and less glide. A stronger grip, but a Vmax and a mania one hair below the curved inner faces (20/80 for example). Go for the flat sides despite everything.
And too big of Quad rears totally block the handling of your board, giving you the impression that its tail floats too much in the turns. Hateful. Better too small than too big.
What paddle length?
Your size, no more and no less, ideally a Pro version for a lighter paddle. You can make it a little shorter if you’re aiming towards a radical ride. Some people cut it to eyebrow height for shortboards. We don’t recommend this for the Mob, and we even suggest going up a size on longer boards for a smoother, more relaxed rhythm.
Which leash?
Take the length of your board: 7′ or 10′.
In less than shoulder size waves, a reduced diameter (6mm) will make you gain a lot of speed. Above, you must have 7mm minimum.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your lifejacket and should be treated as such.
Equipments
The Mob FSP Pro features a high-end 5mm deck pad that delivers top-tier grip and unmatched comfort.
At the back, the 3D Function Tail Pad provides a smart, responsive feel with strategically placed grooves and cutouts that enhance foot awareness—keeping you locked in and dialed into every movement.
Up front, the Front Pad Ridge Traction ensures perfect grip and surgical precision while maintaining plush cushioning.
This multi-zone deck pad gives the new Mob a perfectly balanced connection—precise, comfortable, and fully under control.
The ergonomic carrying handle on the deck makes it easy to maneuver the board out of the water. It also allows you to carry it one-handed—super practical!
It also houses the vent screw, keeping it protected and eliminating the need for extra reinforcements that would add unnecessary weight. Smart, durable, and lightweight.
The vent screw is automatic. Its membrane lets air circulate between the board’s core and the outside while keeping water out, effortlessly managing pressure changes. This smart system boosts durability with zero upkeep. That said, always keep your board out of direct sunlight and remove the valve when flying.
The Mob is equipped with four FCS 2 boxes, offering a firm and highly durable anchor point—the most efficient and solid system available. It’s simply the highest standard of fin boxes on the market. This allows you to set up any type of quad fins to match your style and preferences, with access to an almost limitless range of high-performance fins.
The leash plug is indestructible as it is glued into the high density PVC sandwich of the deck. The guarantee of not losing your board in the rocks for example, nor of seeing water seep through the plug because the PVC is waterproof.
To sum up, the Mob comes with:
4 FCS II Glass Flex fins, for Quad mounting (2 Carver L/118mm side fins + 2 Carver S/100mm side fins).
4 front and back FCS II side boxes of high resistance reinforced with high density PVC for quad mounting.
5 mm pad: deck covering designed for great comfort and absolute grip.
Integrated central carry handle on the board deck.
Leash plug Concrete fixed at tail to never lose your board.
