I-SUP Inflatable Race 18'0
Program
For very long distance races and long training rides or high tempo mode.
Presentation
The I-SUPs are high-end boards created by Patrice Guénolé, a pioneering shaper in the world of Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and a team of passionate engineers.
Derived from the rigid race shapes, the I-SUP Race 18’0 is a great long distance racing board.
When paddling, the I-SUP Race 18’0 is the fastest in our Race range. It has an incredible glide that keeps a high average speed without losing energy during long distance competitions. In addition, its hyper dynamic character and great inertia make it the ideal board for training and racing!
It is ideal for demanding SUPers who are comfortable with balance and have a good level in paddling.
It has race carrying handles and a tail pad for more control. In addition, the fin located at the rear 1/3 makes the board much more stable, more efficient with cross wind, and more maneuverable.
It’s an affordable board, inspired by the world of competition, to offer incredible glide at a record price.
With a superb design, the I-SUP Race is really a beautiful stand-up paddleboard at a record price and at the top of the range.
OUTLINE
With its long, narrow outline, this board is designed for glide. The sleek lines are optimized for paddling speed. Its pinched rounded pin tail minimizes drag and ensures smooth water release. The design maintains width underfoot for solid paddle stability, making it easy to handle. The narrow nose is made for smooth gliding, even through chop. This carefully refined shape, developed from thousands of templates over 30 years, provides unmatched performance and ease.
ROCKER
The low rocker design ensures maximum speed. When you want to pick up the pace, its sleek shape will accelerate effortlessly.
ROUNDED PIN TAIL
In racing, its glide is appreciated for its fluidity, enhanced by the narrowness of the board with this very pin tail shape. In terms of maneuverability, rounding a buoy with its tail fin is technical because it sinks easily, but it’s incredibly effective. It’s not made for surfing, but it won’t refuse a nice diagonal.
RAILS
The rails are round, as with all inflatable boards. But we’ve turned this natural shape into an advantage, allowing water to glide effortlessly over the board. No drag, just pure flow.
NOSE
The pointed nose is designed to cut through the water efficiently. It still provides buoyancy with enough width in front of the feet to maintain support during powerful paddling. In tougher conditions, its pinched shape allows for easy navigation through chop.

Buying guide
For whom?
This board is designed for experienced paddlers. It’s not too difficult to handle, as it comes in two widths, so you can select the one that matches your skill level.
However, we wouldn’t recommend it for beginners, as it’s still a race or long-distance cruising board.

What size for the I-SUP Race 18’?
Even though anything is possible, here we outline the main uses:
The 18’0 x 26’’ Race:
Not as challenging as you might think on flat water.
Ideal for sessions lasting over an hour on calm water.
In Downwind: It’s a bit tricky, but still manageable.
Rider weight: Doesn’t matter as long as your skill level can handle this race shape.
The 18’0 x 29’’ Race:
Quite comfortable on flat water, even for those with little experience.
Perfect for sessions lasting over an hour on calm water.

Understanding the GONG range?

What is the difference between our First range and I-SUP range?

Best quiver choice?
This board is perfect with a Carbon Mix 100% GONG Paddle cut to the right size or adjustable, and a top of the range fiberglass or carbon fin.
What length of paddle?
The way you paddle, your stance and the frequency at which you paddle will depend on your program. You will need a longer paddle for touring for multiple hours, while you would need a shorter paddle for surfing in order to facilitate quick and strong paddle strokes to catch a wave. Take your time to pick the right length/setting for your paddle, because it will help give you the stability and performance you will need.
Examples:
For a 100% surfing session, set your paddle between your waist and +10cm.
For more relaxed surfing, a +10cm paddle will be perfect.
For a ride, set your paddle between +10 and +20cm.

Which leash?
For the I-SUP Race range, a 10’ leash is the perfect choice. Depending on your needs and style, you can opt for a classic ankle or knee leash for a mix of cruising and surfing, or a coiled leash to minimize drag for a fully racing-focused setup.
Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your life jacket.
Good to know :
Never leave your board in the sun, let alone an inflatable board which will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it peel off because the materials it is made of become flexible in the heat. Never store it under a car window, or in contact with a heat source.
Never let your board get roughed up in the waves, especially when you’re close to the beach. You have to protect it from major strains. A wave that takes your board and rolls it can do damage.
Do not hold it by the leash indefinitely because it can give way under very high tension. Avoid big waves and don’t resist. If it breaks, it’s easy to change but annoying.
Stay away from oysters: this is one of the few seashells that can cut your board and sink it in seconds. Be careful +++
Don’t let your inflatable board rub on something for a long time. It can happen on a boat, for example, that your board moves with each wave and rubs for hours in the same place. The material will disintegrate because it will be as sanded. You will have a hole that will need to be covered with a patch.
Never put the board between the wave and you: risk of a broken nose type injury ;-)
Do not paddle far at sea with an offshore wind, and avoid windy outings as it is rarely fun and always dangerous. SUP is an activity that involves real risks, even in seemingly peaceful conditions. Always anticipate these risks and protect yourself.
