Presentation
The GONG Plus lowkite is the ideal solution to start easily and progress quickly. Designed to offer a stable, smooth, and intuitive flight, it guarantees immediate enjoyment and exceptional versatility from the very first sessions.
Ease of use
Thanks to ultra-simple setup, the Plus lowkite is immediately effective: easy take-off, reassuring stability, powerful depower, intuitive handling, and excellent upwind performance. It’s ideal for relaxed cruising, riding with or without a harness, and fully enjoying bumpy conditions.
Accelerated progression
The Plus accelerates the learning curve. From the first sessions, it helps you understand the flight domain of a lowkite and quickly gets you airborne. You’ll progress fast toward freeride navigation and your first moves. It’s a perfect lowkite to rapidly explore all the possibilities of lowkite riding.
Exceptional upwind performance
Thanks to a new ultra-stable profile and a perfectly smooth, aerodynamic leading edge, the Plus offers remarkable upwind capability, comparable to what you get with a kite or a wing. This increased efficiency allows you to fly further downwind in freefly, climb crank upwind faster, and make the most of every session.
Optimal depower for maximum comfort
Enhanced stability in the front half of the lowkite and release in the rear profile dramatically increase the depower capability of the Plus. This significantly improves sailing comfort and usable wind range: you can easily ride overpowered, even with a minimalist harness. A 4m² wing holds its own in committed 20/25-knot sessions. You can ride with a compact, low-volume board and a small foil.
Exceptional stability
Featuring a single-skin structure with a pronounced arc, strong twist, and short bridle, the lowkite Plus offers unmatched stability, even in gusty winds or when piloting errors occur. This reassuring stability allows beginners to focus fully on their technique and feel.
Controlled power
Its deep profile and generous wingtips generate immediate power, making takeoff much easier and significantly reducing pumping effort. Just two pumps on the foil are enough to take off with strong and reliable lift in hand.
Lightweight and compact
Ultra-light and very compact, the Plus is easy to carry in a bag or even under a rashguard, perfect for paddling past the break. Its practical format allows for hassle-free travel, easily fitting in a boardbag or backpack alongside a wing. On downwinds, it packs down small, offering no wind resistance or inconvenience.
Robust and simplified design
The no-inflation structure removes the hassles of bladders (punctures, pressure loss). Being single-skin, it doesn’t absorb water and remains easy to handle at sea. Its highly visible color improves safety during your first rides. We use the same materials as in our wings to ensure maximum durability and excellent repairability. That’s important, as it will face strong forces and must be built seriously using marine-grade, proven materials.
Short bridle without lines
Thanks to its short bridles, you ride very close to the wing without needing to hold it, enjoying the qualities of a kite while avoiding the constraints of a traditional lined wing. The lowkite Plus simplifies launching in complex spots and eases transitions in waves, for instance.
Versatility and sensations
With this new version, the Plus benefits from increased stability and a much wider wind range. This evolution allows for comfortable riding in a wide variety of conditions, using smaller foils and boards, and enjoying sensations close to those offered by wing riding. The tricks from our Team are a great example.
High-level performance accessible to all
Foiling with a 700cm² foil and a reduced-volume board is now accessible thanks to the evolution of the Plus. What used to be reserved for very experienced riders is now open to a much broader audience.
GONG experience and unbeatable value
This second generation of lowkite benefits from the in-depth experience of our team and testers, who spend every day perfecting these products on the water. Thanks to our direct-sales model, GONG offers this major evolution while maintaining the best value for money on the market.
With the GONG Plus lowkite, discover an innovative, accessible, and thrilling way to ride, where instant pleasure and infinite potential combine to revolutionize your foiling experience.

Exceptional stability thanks to the new bridle and rods
The new version of the Plus lowkite benefits from a completely redesigned bridle with perfectly distributed attachment points and optimized tensions. The lowkite is perfectly stable in the air, offering a consistent profile that glides through the air.
The addition of semi-rigid Nylon leading-edge stiffeners on each segment smooths the leading edge for perfect stability in all conditions: a more powerful profile in the low end, faster, and smoother in the high end. Take-offs, transitions, upwind riding, speed, stability, trim, and waiting phases become incredibly easy, efficient, and safe.
Advantages:
Maximum stability, even in case of piloting errors
Easier transitions and relaunches, it glides in the air
Peace of mind from the very first sessions
Total control and perfect depower
The profile of the Plus lowkite is designed for perfect stability on the front half of the lowkite, allowing for near-complete depower of the rear half of the profile when the bar is slightly opened. This system offers remarkably stable depower, ensuring comfortable riding even in high wind or overpowered conditions. You can easily ride in 20 to 25 knots with a 4m² lowkite, for example. The leading edge stays rigid, nothing deforms in gusts, and the trailing edge vents on demand. Ideal for progressing, freestyle riding, and especially for riding with smaller boards and foils.
Advantages:
Precise power control
Calm navigation in high wind
Ideal stability for riding on the harness
Optimal upwind performance
The perfectly smoothed aerodynamic shape of the Plus lowkite’s leading edge allows for upwind performance comparable to kites and wings. No more struggling, heading upwind becomes natural and easy, multiplying the joy of riding over long downwind distances or in marginal conditions.
Advantages:
Optimized upwind angle, comparable to a classic kite
Reinforced efficiency, maximized fun
Less effort, more time on the water
Immediate power even in light wind
The deep, perfectly smooth and locked profile, with a “rectangular” outline and generous wingtips, generates instant traction at the slightest breeze. The Plus lowkite takes off quickly, significantly reducing the need for pumping. Perfectly suited for underpowered use or beginners, it provides easy starts and very comfortable linear pull for riders of all levels. You can use smaller boards and foils.
Advantages:
Immediate and efficient traction
Excellent low-end performance
Use of standard boards and foils
Unmatched compactness and lightness
Thanks to its ultra-light single-skin design, the Plus lowkite packs down in one second. You can easily bear off and pack it away, hold it balled up in one hand in freefly or tuck it under a rashguard. Ideal for downwinders. Its extreme compactness also makes getting past the waves easier when the shorebreak is heavy.
It eliminates any bulk constraint for simplified transport in its small bag. Packing it after use is a breeze. Perfect for adding a new riding option to your quiver to vary the fun. If you travel with your wing gear, you just need to slip this lowkite, less than 1 kg with its bag, into your luggage and you have a new sport to practice.
Advantages:
Total freedom, simplicity, efficiency
Perfect for downwind sessions
Easy to transport and pack
Zero maintenance thanks to the self-inflating structure
By eliminating bladders, the Plus lowkite completely removes all maintenance constraints: no pump to carry, no risk of puncture or pressure loss. The lowkite is always ready to use, guaranteeing total reliability and maximum simplicity, so you can enjoy every session 100%.
Advantages:
No bladder-related risks
Low maintenance

Buying guide
For whom?
The Plus lowkite is designed for riders who are new to lowkiting and are looking for a simple, secure, and accessible solution for their first sessions. It's a great progressive freeride lowkite that will also allow you to do your first upwind and downwind runs.
It's a great choice for those who want to replace a paddle on a downwind foil board, making takeoffs smoother and offering a great way to catch the bumps with minimal effort.
This model is perfect for:
- Lowkite beginners who want a progressive and intuitive approach.
The first freeride sessions in upwind/downwind thanks to excellent upwind performance.
Downwind foil riders wanting a lightweight and compact tool to start.
Riders seeking a stable and forgiving lowkite for safe learning.
Anyone wanting a wing that's easy to pack away and doesn't require inflation.
For what?
The V2 Plus lowkite offers incredible mobility on the water. Its perfect stability allows for insane and effortless upwind angles across a wide wind range.
As a result, it makes takeoffs easier with a large board and generous foil for beginners, and accelerates progression on smaller boards with faster foils for more experienced riders.
Its purpose is simple: propel you on freeride runs, link maneuvers together, and thanks to its perfect upwind ability, pack the wing away and glide on the foil using the bumps.
Its use ranges from relaxed freeride to downwind, where it lets you launch effortlessly before being stashed under a rashguard or in a small bag.
Its stability and gentle power also make it an excellent tool for first-time lowkite rides, allowing you to cruise without worrying about demanding lowkite control.
But it’s also perfect for dedicated upwind/downwind use thanks to its excellent upwind performance and compactness when folded.
Which size?
The Plus lowkite comes in sizes 2m², 3m², 4m², and 5m². The size choice primarily depends on the rider's size and the wind conditions.
How to choose the right size?
Keep in mind that it's very close to the surface area you're used to in winging.
- Beginner / Safety: Opt for a larger size to ensure easier takeoff in moderate wind conditions. A 4m² in 15–20 knots is a benchmark for the ease/power compromise.
- Experienced / Performance: Lighter or more experienced riders can go down in size for better maneuverability, or up to gain low-end range, with a 5m² in 10–12 knots.
- Strong wnds: Smaller sizes (3m², 2m²) are suitable for sustained winds and for riders looking to ride with more control. With a harness, the wind range is enormous.
Which quiver?
The Plus lowkite can be paired with an optimized downwind setup, but not only that, it can also be used with your wing foil setup once you’ve passed the progression stages.
More classically, a generous foil (2 or 3 sizes above your wing setup) and a voluminous, glide-friendly board will be perfect for progressing with peace of mind. Balance should be easy on your board, and takeoff should be smooth thanks to the foil. In this case, within 1 hour of practice you’ll be riding your first runs without trouble:
- Board: A mid-length or voluminous downwind foil board with good glide is essential.
- Foil: A large-surface, generous foil (> 1000 cm²) to ensure quick lift and make gliding easier without needing excessive power.
- Accessories: A fitted rashguard or a small bag to store the wing once you’re underway.
This equipment allows you to fully exploit the potential of the Plus lowkite, maximizing fluidity and easing transitions into pure foil gliding.
Understanding the GONG range
The single-skin lowkites Plus & Neutra: designed to be simple and compact. They allow you to stow your lowkite while flying and surf the swell, taking full advantage of their lightness. They are also excellent freeride lowkites thanks to their favorable ease-to-performance ratio: great low-end, stable with a harness, excellent upwind like a kite, easy to set up, and effortless relaunch, even after a crash in the waves.
These lowkites are incredibly light and compact, offering ultra-fast setup and minimal bulk. They can be easily stowed in one hand, under a rashguard top, or in a small bag while flying. Relaunching them is just as simple.
And for downwinders: they are a great alternative to a paddle, allowing you to launch easily in foil mode, then quickly stow the lowkite to fully enjoy free gliding.
Takeoff and relaunch are the number one strengths of these single-skin designs. It’s plug and play.
GONG models:
- Plus: Accessible, stable, with an enormous wind range and outstanding upwind performance. Perfect for starting out and progressing quickly in lowkite.
- Neutra: Maneuverable, dynamic, precise, and with incredible upwind ability. It’s the ideal lowkite for radical and agile riding in waves or downwind, and for tricks and carving alike.
The double-skin lowkites Droid & Pulse: true closed-cell lowkites dedicated to navigation in the strict sense, designed to accelerate hard, with optimal top speed and lift.
These wings are made for active piloting, with behavior similar to that of a traditional closed-cell foil kite. They are technical, powerful, and precise.
They offer outstanding upwind performance, unlimited acceleration, and great stability thanks to their pressurized closed-cell construction.
GONG models:
- Droid: Ultra-versatile, perfect for surf freestyle, tricks, and committed freeride sessions. Agile, powerful, and playful.
- Pulse: Designed for racing, freeracing, and freeride, this wing offers insane upwind performance, a huge usable wind range, and ultra-smooth glide for course riding and long high-speed runs.
If we had to summarize the differences between these two lowkite concepts in two words:
- Single-skin lowkite = inflatable kite.
- Double-skin lowkite = foil kite.
Which leash?
For your safety, we strongly recommend using a board leash because your lowkite has no buoyancy, so the leash becomes essential.
Board leash: A straight leash will help avoid tangling with the bridles. A belt-style model will be more comfortable, it won’t drag in the water or get caught around your feet. A coiled (telephone) leash has the disadvantage of tangling more easily with the lowkite’s bridles. Be cautious of entanglements in waves, where leashes and bridles can become dangerous. Stay alert.
Lowkite leash: In theory, you should use one, but honestly, it seems completely unnecessary. If you drop your single-skin lowkite on the water, you’ll see that it won’t drift more than 50 meters and will stop moving on the surface. By paddling on your board, you’ll easily catch up to it. Of course, in waves, if you let go, it may get tossed around and momentarily sink. With its fluorescent color, it’s hard to lose, and we believe it’s better not to be attached to it in the waves, because the pull can be enormous, and getting tangled in the bridles in the surf is extremely dangerous: there’s a risk of severing fingers, ears, or drowning by strangulation. You clearly need to stay away from the lowkite in the waves if it crashes. We strongly insist on this point, which means: avoid the waves.

Is this lowkite suitable for classic freeride sessions?
Today, yes. The upwind performance, comfort, and overall mobility are identical to what you get with a wing or a kite. So the possibilities are wide open. Go for it.
Can you go upwind with the Plus?
Absolutely, just like in kite or wing. And with a harness, it’s completely effortless. You can control the lowkite with one finger.
How to easily store the wing after takeoff?
The Plus can be stowed in one hand by slipping the front bridles into that hand once the lowkite is depowered. Then you can either keep it in hand or place it under a rashguard or in a small bag. It can be packed away instantly thanks to its single-skin construction and short bridle setup.
What is the main advantage of the Plus compared to a paddle?
The Plus allows you to take off effortlessly without needing to master paddling or balance in challenging conditions. Unlike a paddle, it instantly generates power, making takeoff easier and reducing the balance required to get on foil. You don't have to generate the lowkite’s power yourself, the wind does it for you. So it's the opposite of a paddle start, which relies entirely on your own energy.
Plus or Neutra?
- Neutra: Designed for those seeking a more dynamic and responsive lowkite than the Plus. It offers more precise steering, better maneuverability, and a livelier feel on bumps. It allows you to adjust your lines more finely and enjoy improved control during navigation.
- Plus: Designed for riders who are discovering lowkite and want a simple, forgiving, and stable lowkite. It makes foil downwind takeoffs easier with smooth and predictable power delivery. Its strength: it's easy to handle and extremely accessible to use.
If you want an ultra-stable, easy-to-use, and reassuring lowkite, go for the Plus.
If you’re looking for more maneuverability, finesse, and a livelier ride, the Neutra is made for you.
