Neutra Lowkite

Program
The maneuverable and compact single-skin lowkite for upwind riding and surfing in a performance-focused program. The ultimate choice to push your riding to the next level, especially on small foils and demanding boards.
Presentation
The Neutra GONG lowkite is the single-skin kite oriented toward surf and moves, maneuverable and compact, ideal for pushing your lowkite practice further in downwind and in the waves.
Ultimate maneuverability
The Neutra stands out with exceptional maneuverability thanks to its large arc, its refined wingtips, and its short and precise bridling. Very responsive on the bar, it allows for tight, precise trajectories and quick transitions. You can truly surf with the Neutra in flight, as you would in wing foiling to do airs, and get past fast sections with power for example.
Precise and intuitive control
With its profile perfectly tuned forward and subtly balanced stability that still allows for maneuverability, the Neutra offers perfect and very natural control in all conditions. The kite remains stable and predictable even during aggressive maneuvers or in irregular wind, simplifying maneuvers and piloting in rhythm with small foils.
High-end wind range performance
Thanks to its perfectly tuned profile and excellent depower capability, the Neutra remains very comfortable in the high wind range. You can ride overpowered while maintaining control and without physical strain, even in strong and gusty wind and demanding water conditions. Handling when hooked to a harness line is exemplary: one-finger piloting and no effort. Magical. This quality offers a wide range of use, ideal for long, committed sessions.
Excellent upwind ability
The optimized aerodynamic shape and the smooth leading edge stiffened by specific Nylon reinforcements allow the Neutra to go upwind very efficiently, even with demanding foils and small boards. Its efficiency is remarkable upwind, facilitating quick upwind runs to maximize downwind, surfing, and mobility on the water.
Instant power and high efficiency
The deep and high-performance profile of the Neutra generates immediate but easily adjustable power. Starts are quick, without excessive effort, even underpowered. You take off in two pumps, with constant push, a lowkite that keeps its shape, and a linear forward acceleration. This level of efficiency is just incredible and makes things so easy. Doing lowkite has become child’s play.
Maximum lightness and compactness
Designed as a single-skin, the Neutra is extremely light and compact. It packs in a second, very naturally. It can be held in hand or packed in seconds under a rashguard or in a small bag, greatly simplifying starts and crossing the break when launching. Perfect qualities also for travel, as it can be easily transported during trips without cluttering your usual quiver.
Durability and simplified maintenance
Thanks to its single-skin construction with no inflation, the Neutra avoids all risks related to bladders (punctures, pressure leaks). Its light structure retains no water, making handling easier and relaunches simpler. Designed with the same durable materials used in our kites and wings, it withstands repeated crashes and intense sessions perfectly.
Technical versatility and intense sensations
The Neutra is designed for an engaged lowkite practice. Its playful and technical character allows for full exploitation of high-performance foils and technical boards. It is ideal for those wanting to push their practice, surfing bumps with agility and constantly pushing their limits.
Fast access to performance
Although dedicated to technical use, the Neutra remains accessible for progressive learning. In a few hours, one can master this lively and precise lowkite, which allows for quickly reaching a high level of performance.
GONG, expertise and unique value for money
The result of rigorous development, hundreds of prototypes, and countless tests by our large team, the Neutra fully benefits from GONG's recognized expertise in board sports. Thanks to our direct-to-user model, we offer you a high-performance lowkite at the best value for money on the market.
With the Neutra lowkite, discover a new vision of lowkites, maneuverable, easy, and radical, to push your limits and reinvent your foil practice with every session.

Exceptional stability thanks to the new bridle and rods
The new version of the Neutra lowkite benefits from a completely redesigned bridle with perfectly distributed attachment points and optimized tensions. The lowkite is perfectly stable in the air, offering a consistent profile that glides through the air.
The addition of semi-rigid Nylon leading-edge stiffeners on each segment smooths the leading edge for perfect stability in all conditions: a more powerful profile in the low end, faster, and smoother in the high end. Take-offs, transitions, upwind riding, speed, stability, trim, and waiting phases become incredibly easy, efficient, and safe.
Advantages:
Maximum stability, even in case of piloting errors
Easier transitions and relaunches, it glides in the air
Peace of mind from the very first sessions
Total control and perfect depower
The profile of the Neutra lowkite is designed for perfect stability on the front half of the lowkite, allowing for near-complete depower of the rear half of the profile when the bar is slightly opened. This system offers remarkably stable depower, ensuring comfortable riding even in high wind or overpowered conditions. You can easily ride in 20 to 25 knots with a 4m² lowkite, for example. The leading edge stays rigid, nothing deforms in gusts, and the trailing edge vents on demand. Ideal for progressing, freestyle riding, and especially for riding with smaller boards and foils.
Advantages:
Precise power control
Calm navigation in high wind
Ideal stability for riding on the harness
Optimal upwind performance
The perfectly smoothed aerodynamic shape of the Neutra lowkite’s leading edge allows for upwind performance comparable to kites and wings. No more struggling, heading upwind becomes natural and easy, multiplying the joy of riding over long downwind distances or in marginal conditions.
Advantages:
Optimized upwind angle, comparable to a classic kite
Reinforced efficiency, maximized fun
Less effort, more time on the water
Immediate power even in light wind
The deep, perfectly smooth and balanced profile at the core of the lenticular outline, with its thin wingtips, generates instant traction at the slightest breeze without hindering maneuverability. The Neutra lowkite takes off quickly, significantly reducing the need for pumping. Perfectly suited for underpowered use so you don’t need to rig bigger, it provides easy starts and very comfortable linear pull for riders of all levels. You can use smaller boards and foils.
Advantages:
Immediate and efficient traction
Excellent low-end performance
Use of standard boards and foils
Unmatched compactness and lightness
Thanks to its ultra-light single-skin design, the Neutra lowkite packs down in one second. You can easily bear off and pack it away, hold it balled up in one hand in freefly or tuck it under a rashguard. Ideal for downwinders. Its extreme compactness also makes getting past the waves easier when the shorebreak is heavy.
It eliminates any bulk constraint for simplified transport in its small bag. Packing it after use is a breeze. Perfect for adding a new riding option to your quiver to vary the fun. If you travel with your wing gear, you just need to slip this lowkite, less than 1 kg with its bag, into your luggage and you have a new sport to practice.
Advantages:
Total freedom, simplicity, efficiency
Perfect for downwind sessions
Easy to transport and pack
Zero maintenance thanks to the self-inflating structure
By eliminating bladders, the Neutra lowkite completely removes all maintenance constraints: no pump to carry, no risk of puncture or pressure loss. The lowkite is always ready to use, guaranteeing total reliability and maximum simplicity, so you can enjoy every session 100%.

Buying guide
For who?
The Neutra lowkite is intended for foilers who want a high-performance lowkite from their very first sessions. More dynamic and more responsive than the Lowkite Plus, it is aimed at those who are looking for more sensations and maneuverability to carve, pack away/deploy, while still maintaining great ease of use.
This model is ideal for:
- Riders who want a playful and precise lowkite, with greater potential in the waves than the Plus.
- Downwind practitioners looking for a light and compact tool to boost their takeoffs and ride the bumps more fluidly.
- Those who want a high-performance lowkite they can pack away after takeoff, with improved maneuverability to adjust flight paths.
- Riders who are comfortable with foiling, seeking more direct and responsive handling than the Plus, but still accessible, powerful, and with insane upwind capability.
For what?
The Neutra lowkite takes the Plus concept further, adding extra playfulness and maneuverability. It is designed for waves (carving), maneuvers, and upwinds/downwinds, while offering better control and precise navigation on long freeride sessions.
Its primary use is to initiate turns, whether packed in freefly, with power in hand, during transitions, or in tricks.
It allows for immediate takeoff thanks to its moderate arc, lenticular outline, and thin tips that concentrate its energy.
It can be easily held in hand, under a lycra, or in a small bag once in flight, offering a natural, free, and intuitive glide on the bumps.
Unlike the Plus, the Neutra allows for more variations in trajectory and can be used to sail short tacks and, most importantly, to surf waves with greater agility.
Which size?
The Neutra lowkite is available in 2m², 3m², 4m², and 5m². The choice of size mainly depends on the rider’s build and wind conditions:
How to choose the right size?
Keep in mind that it's very close to the surface area you're used to in winging.
- Beginner / Safety: Opt for a larger size to ensure easier takeoff in moderate wind conditions. A 4m² in 15–20 knots is a benchmark for the ease/power compromise.
- Experienced / Performance: Lighter or more experienced riders can go down in size for better maneuverability, or up to gain low-end range, with a 5m² in 10–12 knots.
- Strong wnds: Smaller sizes (3m², 2m²) are suitable for sustained winds and for riders looking to ride with more control. With a harness, the wind range is enormous.
Which quiver?
The Neutra lowkite can be paired with a setup optimized for downwind, but not only that, it can also be used with your wing foil setup once you've progressed beyond the early stages.
- Board: A mid-length or high-volume downwind foil board with good glide is essential at the beginning. But a compact wing board will be absolutely amazing, in full-power harness mode with the Neutra later on.
- Foil: A high-performance, responsive foil, around 800 cm² to 1200 cm², allowing for better reacceleration after each bump. Or even a pure wave foil, in 600/700 cm², which will give you insane maneuverability.
- Accessories: A fitted rashguard or a small bag to stow the wing once you're up and riding.
This setup allows you to take full advantage of the Neutra’s potential, adding more control and sensations compared to the Plus, while still fitting within an upwind/downwind and surf program.
Understanding the GONG range
The single-skin lowkites Plus & Neutra: designed to be simple and compact. They allow you to stow your lowkite while flying and surf the swell, taking full advantage of their lightness. They are also excellent freeride lowkites thanks to their favorable ease-to-performance ratio: great low-end, stable with a harness, excellent upwind like a kite, easy to set up, and effortless relaunch, even after a crash in the waves.
These lowkites are incredibly light and compact, offering ultra-fast setup and minimal bulk. They can be easily stowed in one hand, under a rashguard top, or in a small bag while flying. Relaunching them is just as simple.
And for downwinders: they are a great alternative to a paddle, allowing you to launch easily in foil mode, then quickly stow the lowkite to fully enjoy free gliding.
Takeoff and relaunch are the number one strengths of these single-skin designs. It’s plug and play.
GONG models:
- Plus: Accessible, stable, with an enormous wind range and outstanding upwind performance. Perfect for starting out and progressing quickly in lowkite.
- Neutra: Maneuverable, dynamic, precise, and with incredible upwind ability. It’s the ideal lowkite for radical and agile riding in waves or downwind, and for tricks and carving alike.
The double-skin lowkites Droid & Pulse: true closed-cell lowkites dedicated to navigation in the strict sense, designed to accelerate hard, with optimal top speed and lift.
These wings are made for active piloting, with behavior similar to that of a traditional closed-cell foil kite. They are technical, powerful, and precise.
They offer outstanding upwind performance, unlimited acceleration, and great stability thanks to their pressurized closed-cell construction.
GONG models:
- Droid: Ultra-versatile, perfect for surf freestyle, tricks, and committed freeride sessions. Agile, powerful, and playful.
- Pulse: Designed for racing, freeracing, and freeride, this wing offers insane upwind performance, a huge usable wind range, and ultra-smooth glide for course riding and long high-speed runs.
If we had to summarize the differences between these two lowkite concepts in two words:
- Single-skin lowkite = inflatable kite.
- Double-skin lowkite = foil kite.
Which leash?
For your safety, we strongly recommend using a board leash because your lowkite has no buoyancy, so the leash becomes essential.
Board leash: A straight leash will help avoid tangling with the bridles. A belt-style model will be more comfortable, it won’t drag in the water or get caught around your feet. A coiled (telephone) leash has the disadvantage of tangling more easily with the lowkite’s bridles. Be cautious of entanglements in waves, where leashes and bridles can become dangerous. Stay alert.
Lowkite leash: In theory, you should use one, but honestly, it seems completely unnecessary. If you drop your single-skin lowkite on the water, you’ll see that it won’t drift more than 50 meters and will stop moving on the surface. By paddling on your board, you’ll easily catch up to it. Of course, in waves, if you let go, it may get tossed around and momentarily sink. With its fluorescent color, it’s hard to lose, and we believe it’s better not to be attached to it in the waves, because the pull can be enormous, and getting tangled in the bridles in the surf is extremely dangerous: there’s a risk of severing fingers, ears, or drowning by strangulation. You clearly need to stay away from the lowkite in the waves if it crashes. We strongly insist on this point, which means: avoid the waves.

Is the Neutra harder to ride than the Plus?
No, it’s simply that the Neutra lowkite is designed for a more demanding program. The Plus is focused on freeride and chill sessions. The Neutra can be chill or extreme, depending on what you ask of it.
Can you go upwind with the Neutra?
Just like in wing or kite, yes, upwind performance is now excellent in lowkite. It’s no longer even a question.
Can the Neutra replace a wing for classical riding?
Absolutely. Today, both disciplines are interchangeable, but with different feelings and potentials.
How to easily pack away the kite after takeoff?
Like the Plus, the Neutra can be stowed in one hand by slipping the front bridles into that hand once the lowkite is depowered. Then you can either keep it in hand or place it under a rashguard or in a small bag. It can be packed away instantly thanks to its single-skin construction and short bridle setup.
What is the main advantage of the Neutra over the Plus?
The Neutra is more maneuverable, playful, and lively, offering more dynamic riding, with an emphasis on carving and tricks… less linear. It allows for greater freedom of movement and finer glide, ideal for those who want a more responsive lowkite.
Neutra or Plus?
- Neutra: Designed for those seeking a more dynamic and responsive lowkite than the Plus. It offers more precise steering, better maneuverability, and a livelier feel on bumps. It allows you to adjust your lines more finely and enjoy improved control during navigation.
- Plus: Designed for riders who are discovering lowkite and want a simple, forgiving, and stable lowkite. It makes foil downwind takeoffs easier with smooth and predictable power delivery. Its strength: it's easy to handle and extremely accessible to use.
If you want an ultra-stable, easy-to-use, and reassuring lowkite, go for the Plus.
If you’re looking for more maneuverability, finesse, and a livelier ride, the Neutra is made for you.
