Foil Stab Ypra Race V3
IWSA Rules Compliant and IWSA registered for 2025 races
Program
The ultimate race stab, designed for maximum performance on all points of sailing, with unparalleled efficiency and speed.
Presentation
The Ypra Race stab is a high-precision tool, designed for ambitious riders seeking top performance in competitive racing.
Featuring a specific profile and high aspect ratio, this stab excels on all points of sailing: upwind, fast downwind rides, and perfectly measured transitions.
Every aspect of the Ypra Race stab is fine-tuned for racing. Its slim profile, carefully designed using CAD and tested in a digital wind tunnel, offers outstanding glide, enabling you to maintain maximum speed effortlessly.
Whether you're powering through at full speed in a straight line with counter-lean or executing high-speed maneuvers, it guarantees unparalleled fluidity and precision, stemming from our vast experience in designing world-class foils.
It's important to note that this stab has enabled the Pro Team to win numerous World Cup events and World Championship titles. That's no small feat!
The outcome: explosive acceleration, flawless control, and maximum energy efficiency, keeping you ahead of the pack.
This Pro Team Series stab is built with high-temperature, high-pressure prepreg carbon cured in steel molds, which increases rigidity, dynamism, and durability under load, while keeping the weight low for precise and immediate feel underfoot. This perfect ratio of lightness and stiffness enhances responsiveness.
With our technical innovations such as the round Micro V3 fuselage and the self-tightening connection system, rigidity is maximized and responsiveness is increased, delivering top-level performance and an ideal experience with a true race foil that is still detachable/ adjustable/ transportable/ repairable/ optimizable.
This highly specialized model features reduced diameters and is designed to fit the Micro V3 fuselage. It is combined with dedicated wings and a specific mast, both optimized to minimize hydrodynamic drag even more compared to the V3 system. It is therefore not compatible with the standard V3 system.
The Ypra Race V3 stabilizer is the ultimate choice for competitors seeking victories and records.
When using titanium screws with a titanium fuselage, it is essential to grease the screw (with tef gel or similar) to prevent seizing.
OUTLINE
With its 8.0 aspect ratio, the Ypra Race stab strikes the ideal compromise between power at high speeds, maneuverability, and performance.

FAST PROFILE
The profile of the Ypra Race is designed to provide precise feedback through the front foot and ensure top stability at high speeds, all while reducing drag to a minimum.
WINGLETS
The winglets of the Ypra Race stabilizer provide excellent stability on fast speed runs and minimize induced drag for ever faster riding.

STANDARD CONNECTION
The Ypra Race features a standard fuselage that enhances the stabilizer’s leverage. This allows for a reduced surface area, greater speed, and improved stability.

Technology
Explore the Carbon technology behind the Pro Team Series foils, an advanced solution that combines high-modulus Prepreg carbon fibers with a high-density hydrophobic foam core. The result: a structure that is incredibly rigid, dynamic, and exceptionally durable, delivering record-level performance.
Engineered in 3D and digitally optimized, each foil is crafted with extreme precision using hydrodynamic and mechanical simulations. Tested by our Pro Team, this range is proven in real conditions to guarantee smooth performance.
Every stage of production is a work of engineering excellence: 5-axis CNC machining, vacuum compression, thermal molding at 150°C, and ultra-precise finishing. The multidirectional, pre-preg fibers ensure optimal flex and torsion control, offering managed rigidity and enhanced durability with a lightweight design.
High-Modulus Carbon delivers unparalleled rigidity, embodying the peak of performance in our most advanced wings and masts, designed to withstand the toughest structural stresses.
These products feature minimal flex, as the fibers are oriented along multiple axes to lock in bending and torsion, ensuring maximum responsiveness.
Thanks to the pre-impregnated fibers, we can ensure optimal resin use, providing perfect cohesion with the lightest possible weight.
Each layer of carbon is CNC-cut and then carefully assembled by hand around a high-density hydrophobic foam core, before being placed in a steel mold. A central stiffener is integrated to increase rigidity without compromising lightness.
The mold is then exposed to high pressure and heated to 150°C to harden the resin and carbon. The foam core, expanding under the heat, ensures even compression between the carbon layers, resulting in a solid and durable structure.
Durability and repairability are at the core of our development philosophy. Our foils are tested and proven by dozens of team riders, hundreds of employees, and thousands of customers worldwide. Even in case of damage, our products can be repeatedly repaired, ensuring exceptional longevity.
Buying guide
For whom?
You have an excellent level in wing foiling, and you love racing. This is THE stab for you.
It takes a high level of skill, commitment, and a great physical condition to go all in with it.
For what?
The ultimate race stabilizer.
There are no limits to top speed, acceleration, relaunch, carve pressure, or precise drive. The Ypra Race stab is made for going fast on World Cup courses.
Whether upwind or downwind, it excels in long course races.
With numerous world titles and World Cup victories, this foil is the benchmark in Race.
This GONG gear, tested all season by our Pro Team, is now available in series.
Maintenance
When using titanium screws with a titanium fuselage, it is essential to grease the screw (with tef gel or similar) to prevent seizing.
Which size?
In race settings, the size is often adapted slightly depending on the wind.
Remember that the ideal size is about 150 cm², with 135 cm² being suitable for strong winds. That said, using 165 cm² in light wind conditions is perfectly normal.

General guidelines for choosing stabilizer sizes:
The ideal stabilizer size depends on your board, skill level, weight, spot conditions, and your front wing.
A larger stabilizer will ease takeoff by generating a significant amount of torque, which increases the angle of attack. This also leads to a more direct response under the front foot.
A smaller stabilizer will be more challenging at takeoff but will enhance speed and agility. You’ll also lose some front foot support, meaning you’ll need to move the foil forward in the tracks to restore stability.
Always match the stabilizer size to the front wing size for a balanced flight and harmonious performance between both parts.
