Wing foil Board Inflatable HIPE Perf

PROGRAM
An inflatable wing foil board with 95% of the performance of a rigid board in an easy and progressive shape.
PRESENTATION
Evolutionary, performant, and easy to transport, the HIPE Perf is the best-seller among all wing foiling boards, across all constructions and models.
Like all HIPE boards in the GONG range, it is the ultimate blend of the performance of rigid boards with the advantages of inflatable ones. This innovative system of hybrid boards, combining dropstitch technology with a molded composite rigid plate, is entirely developed by our GONG design team and represents a significant revolution in the world of inflatable foil boards.
This version of the HIPE Perf is completely revamped to specialize 100% in wing foiling and offer enhanced glide.
A range of sizes from 5’1 to 5’10 (75L to 150L) is available to cater to all rider profiles, providing accessibility, performance, and practical usability for wing foiling sessions.
Relatively thin for good glide and 100% planing, it significantly improves takeoff. Its sharp yet stable outline, combined with a new rigid rail at the tail, boosts your HIPE before flight. You can take off very easily without needing to oversize your wing or wait for strong winds. This means more time flying, more enjoyment, and faster progress.
After the initial learning hours, it reveals its full potential as a versatile performance board. It allows you to advance in freestyle tricks, race without hassle, and surf bumps or waves with an easy and lively board.
Tested by our team in all conditions, the HIPE has shown no weaknesses, even in 45 knots or under tropical conditions in Tahiti. It is truly the versatile and durable inflatable wing foiling board that will accompany you for years to come.

In a nutshell
This new compact shape offers generous volume for each size. Reassuring without excess, it allows for quick progression on a board with high potential.
Narrower than the previous version, this shape glides more easily before takeoff. Balance remains simple, but it's clear that takeoff requires less effort and wind. With just a few pumps, you're flying.
The fairly flat rocker is also ideal for boosting the takeoff phase.
We love the glide characteristic of these inflatable boards. The round rails and thick tail of the HIPE Perf enhance glide before takeoff. You take off easily, at least as quickly as with a rigid board. It's truly impressive.
To improve takeoff, our designers developed a rigid rail at the tail of the board. This allows for a clean release of water streams at the end of the hull, resulting in better glide before flying and boosting acceleration. You pump less and fly earlier.

Buying guide
For Whom?
Typically, this board is for those who have just completed a training course. If you've got the basics down, it's made for you and for the long haul.
Whether you're a sporty beginner or progressing at a relaxed pace, it's the efficient board that won't give you a headache. It's smooth, fluid, and easy, while remaining highly effective.
Its role is to make your life easier. So, a pro might find it too tame, but it will surely bring joy to thousands of practitioners looking for simplicity, safety, without sacrificing performance.
The HIPE Perf is the super accessible board for a beginner practitioner. The larger sizes are magical for your beginnings: zero stress. In large volumes, it's easy, but in smaller sizes, you'll need to be in good physical condition or be lightweight.
For What?
The HIPE Perf is the board for progressing without complicating your life, almost to the highest level. It's therefore limitless and has a very broad program.
If you can only have one board and you're neither a pure beginner nor a pro, it's a great all-around board: cruising, maneuvers, and even jumps, tricks, surfing, freeflying, etc...
It's truly the easy board in the larger sizes, with an excellent glide that facilitates takeoff. It's fantastic for boosting your progression. In smaller sizes, you're at top-level performance for transitions, speed, course-sailing, turns, and tricks.
What Size?
You can go for a generous size if you're just starting out. And if you already have a good level, you'll instead seek out a volume limit following the rule below.
Keep in mind:
- Your weight plus 50 equals the minimum total liters to start. Example: I weigh 70kg + 50 = 120L minimum to start.
- Your weight plus 20 equals the total liters to progress. Example: I weigh 70kg + 20 = 90L minimum to progress with an agile but easy board.
- Your weight plus 0 equals the total liters to perform. Example: I weigh 70kg + 0 = 70L ideally to progress with a radical board.
Best quiver choices?
The HIPE Perf is truly the all-around easy foil board. So it will take up a large part of your sessions and a very small part of your quiver.
You can, of course, complement it with a range of stand-up paddleboards without foils. And surfboards for days when the waves are not suitable for foiling.
Understanding the GONG range?
The concept of each board of the range can be summed up very simply:
- HIPE LEARN: the inflatable wing board for learning.
- HIPE FIRST: the perfect inflatable wing board for beginners and progression.

- MOB 2TASTE: three sports in one board: SUP, SUP foiling and wing foiling.
- ZUMA: the easy rigid board for SUP foiling and wing foiling, and with good performance.
- LANCE: the compact Zuma, with great lateral stability, ideal for beginnings in wing foiling.
- CRUZADER POINT: fantastic in SUP downwinders, pumping on the flat, but also in light wind conditions for wing foiling, freefly, surfing, etc…
- CRUZADER DIAMOND: compact and easy to paddle shape for downwind SUPing. In wing foiling it’s ideal for light wind conditions, surfing and downwinders.
- FLINT: high performance in SUP foiling, really cool for wing foiling because it is simple, stable and efficient. All in one.
- MINT: absolute efficiency and ease thanks to its glide. A first-class wing board for take offs in a versatile shape geared towards surfing and freeride.
- LEMON: top-notch responsiveness and liveliness in surfing, high performance in freestyle, great stability and lots of glide.
- STUNT: 100% surf-freestyle. Great maneuverability. Instant take offs and re-pops.
- LETHAL: Absolute surfing radicality for a magical ride in all types of waves.
Which Foil Wings?
Beginners will have the fastest progression with an XL front wing (regardless of their size between 50kg and 90kg) and a 45cm X-over stabilizer. Above 90kg, an XXL front wing is a plus for early takeoff.
If you're hesitant, start with X-over.
If you're skilled, start with Curve.
For Experienced Riders:
In the X-Over or Curve range: extremely easy and efficient wings at low speeds:
- M for 50kg -> 65kg and all wind strengths.
- L for 65kg -> 75kg and all wind strengths.
- XL for 75kg -> 100kg and all wind strengths.
- XXL for 100kg -> 120kg and wind below 15 knots.
For Pros:
In the Fluid or Veloce range: high-performance wings
- M for 50kg -> 75kg and wind above 15 knots.
- L for 65kg -> 85kg and wind above 15 knots.
- XL for 75kg -> 100kg and all wind strengths, or for lightweight riders in light wind.
- XXL for 100kg -> 120kg and wind below 15 knots.
The size of the front wing determines the speed/lift ratio. The smaller the wing, the faster you'll go but you'll be uncomfortable at low speeds.
Stabilizers play a major role. They determine the stability of the foil and help with lift, but at the expense of the foil's maximum speed.
Thus, thick stabilizers are slower than thin stabilizers but provide much more lift, making them effective at low speeds and stable. A larger stabilizer span prevents loss of control but decreases maneuverability.
Which Foil Mast?
During your first sessions, you can feel more secure with a short mast (65cm). The falls during your initial flights will be less daunting. But apart from when getting into the water, you'll gain everything with a mast of 85 cm or more.
More length = more margin = easier = more performance.
In choppy conditions, during transitions, in light winds, a tall mast will be ten times more enjoyable. It will prevent you from touching down and give you the necessary height margin in all your actions.
In pure and tough racing, of course, the ultimate is the 107 cm HM mast. Absolutely magical. But the 95 cm aluminum or 92 cm HM masts are also great.
In Freerace, a long mast is also a must. It's not more difficult and it will facilitate fast reaches.
In Freeride, simplicity and versatility are often sought after. The 85 cm mast is a must. 92 cm for those who want more margin.
In Freestyle, we recommend 85 cm to maintain a dynamic and controllable rail-to-rail feel.
In Surf, radicalness and control are preferred, hence the 85 cm mast. But in solid waves, the 92 cm mast will provide more margin to apply huge angles without dramatically ventilating at the bottom, for example.
Finally, note that a 1.5° rake shim under an 85 cm mast will give you the nose-up margin of a 92 cm mast. It's the ultimate trick.
In summary, for waves and freestyle, but also for beginners and progression, an 85 cm mast (V2 or HM depending on your budget) is ideal. Easy to get into the water, easy to transition from one rail to another, it's perfect.
A mast of 92 cm and above will be dedicated to racing, offering more margin at high speeds in choppy conditions but less maneuverability. All our masts: here.
Foil Positioning?
For GONG foils, place the plate in the center of the US rails to start, and move it forward a few centimeters when you start tackling transitions (a sign of good progress).
The further forward you place it, the more it lifts the nose of the board. The further back you place it, the more the nose of the board dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. There is often a tendency not to let the back foot work, especially when coming from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a bit forces you to put more weight on the back foot, resulting in a more harmonious stance and reducing efforts.
Which Leash?
Choose a leash that is at least 6 feet long and has a minimum diameter of 7mm.
Check its condition before each session and replace it annually. It's your life jacket.
Strapped or Strapless? 2 or 3 Straps?
When it comes to wing foiling:
Going strapless feels sexy because you feel free. But honestly, performance-wise, it's not the best option…
So, it's up to you whether the sensation outweighs the performance. On a HIPE Perf, you'll clearly miss out on a significant part of its potential without straps.
With front straps, you'll have much more control and far less risk of the foil flipping under your feet. When you're starting out, front straps are an essential reference point for placing your feet correctly. They save you a lot of time.
In waves, it's obvious that you gain a lot with straps, including the rear strap. You can recover from crazy situations just by pulling on your feet. And what about tricks: the range is multiplied with straps. All jumps are possible, and the cushioning of the inflatable is magical for the knees ;-)
Take your first steps with just the front straps. You can install the rear strap as it will provide a good reference for placing your foot just in front and a good handle. But don't use it at the beginning. Once you're comfortable in flight, consider moving the foil back by 2cm to get used to the rear strap.
Good to know:
Never leave your board in the sun, especially not an inflatable board, and especially not a black carbon plate that will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it delaminate!!!
Do not screw further than the bottom of the box, or else you will go through the skin of the inflatable. We provide non-through US boxes, but remain cautious.
Never let your foil board be mistreated in the waves, especially at the shore. You must protect it from major efforts. A wave that carries your board and rolls it can cause serious damage.
Equipments
SCS SYSTEM
The composite plate is equipped with Smart Connection System (SCS) double entry boxes to easily install and adjust the foil. The double holes correspond to the stance of the holes in your GONG foil plate. Simply present the foil with the brass nuts already mounted on the plate, slide them into the rails without disassembling, tighten the 4 screws, and you're ready to go.
To facilitate foil assembly, our new US fixing brass nuts are connected by a carbon fiber rod and are included with the board. This saves time for foil assembly, and the adjustment is precise. No more risk of losing your brass nuts: you leave them screwed on the plate and slide them into the US rails using the 4 new insertion holes. There's nothing to disassemble: just tighten the screws and go!
Foil adjustment is also easier and more precise with the adjustment information engraved on the plate.
CARRYING HANDLE
The handle in the carbon plate, placed on the hull, is a real comfort enhancement for launching and carrying over short distances. And it has no impact on the rigidity and strength of our plate, which are flawless.
FOOTSTRAPS
The set of 3 footstraps is included with the board.
Developed for wingfoiling, these moderate coverage straps do not fold during wear. With less surface area on the instep, there is less risk of getting stuck or hitting the foot on the edge of the strap when putting it on quickly. This also allows for better leeward support (with the tip of your foot) and therefore a more natural stance in wing foiling.
Sufficiently rigid, they provide precise control while remaining very comfortable.
The V-shaped front footstrap perfectly centers the foot on the front of the board. This positioning is more natural and allows for direct and precise control during maneuvers.
Every detail has been carefully crafted to enhance your on-water experience.
FULL DECK PAD
The premium 5mm thick full deck pad provides maximum grip and comfort while navigating. This Velvet Traction grooving pad offers a velvety touch underfoot and magical grip. Exceptionally stylish and high-quality, it enhances your board.
This relief-free pad truly provides absolute comfort. It's noticeable during long sessions: your feet are less tired.
ROLLER TRANSPORT BAG
The HIPE comes with a super practical and sturdy roller transport bag.
The bag is spacious enough to carry your HIPE Perf, foil, and wing.
It is designed for comfortable travel without exceeding baggage limits on most airlines!
The backpack straps are heavily padded and comfortable. The handles are super strong and comfortable to hold. The front pocket is generously sized to store your accessories and personal items without the risk of losing them. And the compression straps minimize the volume of the bag. Integrated compartments on the back of the front panel allow you to securely and neatly store your foil elements and hardware.
Nothing is missing!
PUMP, HARDWARE, AND REPAIR KIT
The provided dual-action rapid inflation pump is super efficient to get you on the water quickly.
All the hardware for the straps and foil is included with the board.
A repair kit is also included in case of damage (please note that the kit does not include glue, which you can easily find at your hardware store, typically PVC glue). Note that we stock all the components of your board for easy repair to its new state. Everything can be repaired on an inflatable.
