Foil Front Wing Veloce-T V1 - Black

Take advantage of a discount on these reconditioned wings. As the finish was not perfect, these wings, which had minor aesthetic defects, were put aside by our quality control. But to offer you a wing with a nice look, the coat of varnish has been replaced by a veil of black paint.Note however that the internal construction and the shape remain strictly identical, only the finish changes.More about our approach: read this article.
Program
Fly faster, pump faster, drop furious DWs, without degrading handling.
Presentation
These front wings with high outline ratio and minimal thickness are clearly geared towards speed:
- In surf foil and SUP foil: you surf faster, you connect the sections and you pump much faster with less effort.
- In kitesurfing: it's the perfect compromise between the speed of a racing foil and the very powerful handling of a surf foil.
- In wing foil: you go much faster and stronger than with a classic surf foil, without degrading maneuverability.
This incredible glide is found in the pumping phases, in the relaunches, in the accelerations and in Vmax where we see an amazing difference. You go faster, stronger, with a very responsive foil.
It's clearly on the edge of a kite foil, but it still has the fabulous maneuverability of a surf foil and double the lift of a typical kite foil. However, it's not an exclusively speed foil. The profile remains super docile and forgiving. It's ideal for committed transitions.
In the waves, this speed gain allows you to pump less because your natural speed is already crazy. It allows you to make the sharpest turns because speed is the basis of all maneuvers. The airs are monstrous and landing them is much easier without this excess surface area of the big front wings. We are less overwhelmed by the foil, so we can push harder.
In downwind, these front wings work wonders because their speed is completely in phase with the offshore swell, which is not slowed down. The glide is crazy.
To understand the range: The Veloce with a moderate ratio and the Veloce T with a higher ratio.
The Veloce front wings in sizes XS-T, ST, M, L, XL, XXL offer a very high level of performance, particularly in terms of speed.
The Veloce- T front wings, called T for Tall, are placed between the standard sizes, therefore: MT, LT and XL-T. They have a higher ratio which allows you to have the speed of the smaller size and a lift close to the larger size. Indeed, they take the chord and the thickness of the size below but with more wingspan to increase the ratio. The Veloce- T are therefore more racy, faster, and intended for foilers who want more performance than in Veloce. This is typically the shape you choose when you like the Veloce but want to push your performance further.
Beyond this even more stretched ratio on the Veloce T, the outline has been refined on the tips. The outer third offers less surface area to boost the maneuverability of these fast front wings. The rail to rail is much more progressive than on the classic Veloce, which focuses on optimal lift. Roll control is also boosted on the Veloce T.

Ratio
As its name suggests, the Veloce increases the tempo of your sessions. Faster, more lively, but it remains a real surfer.
To make it happen, the Veloce comes in a moderately high aspect ratio with a curved leading edge, a very straight trailing edge, a slightly negative camber and twisted up tips which offer a high level top speed but which is also capable of impressive carvings.
Its aspect ratio of 7.5 means that the Veloce is very close to a high aspect ratio. It sits just below the aspect ratio of a Ypra S! This moderately high aspect ratio preserves maneuverability thanks to a contained wingspan and forgiveness with more concentrated volume, while offering a capacity for speed and a glide far superior to low aspect ratio wings.
This aspect ratio is maintained throughout the range to always offer the same feeling underfoot when changing size to adapt to the conditions.
Outline
The outline of the Veloce is divided into two parts.
A very curved leading edge for smooth turns. This shape facilitates rail to rail by making it progressive (the tip engages easily into the water).
A straight trailing edge that unlocks the foil in pitch for very efficient pumping and great responsiveness. We can thus react in a split second to the movements of the ocean.
Thickness of the profile
The Veloce front wings have a moderate volume that is evenly distributed over the wingspan for a very smooth, progressive and predictable behavior.
You can use larger wing surfaces for lift and glide for long downwinders. Or use smaller and more radical sizes for tow-in sessions, for example. This foil can totally handle powerful and hollow waves on the bigger days.
The volume of the front wing is set back to refine the leading edge and allow it to accept a lot of speed. It really is a must-have on fast swells.
The fine and slightly twisted tips provide very precise and very progressive steering to be able to attack curves at high speed. This twisting helps to get into the curve and relieves excessive lift.
The type of profile
The modernized profile with a set back volume offers better efficiency and an optimized glide, which allows both a longer hold of flights and to reach crazy speeds.
The rear third of the extrado is the key point of this new profile. With more volume on this part, the front wing glides longer for the same effort. Top speed is slightly affected but you enjoy a lot more length between two pumping strokes and a lot more lift at low speed. Another striking point: the front wing recovers flight incredibly well. If you fly too high, it will stall but recover on its own, without you even realizing it. Ditto in landings where it takes off again in a flash.
The max width has been moved back for more top speed, but also more roundness in its behavior (less ON/OFF).
In surf foiling you don’t get overwhelmed at the take-off.
In wing foiling it takes off easily and you recover flight cleanly after a jump without violent re-pop.
The trailing edge is supercritical to reduce drag as much as possible and tolerate crazy speeds without saturating.
Camber
The dihedral is very slightly negative to provide total (and essential) control in high-speed curves. You never feel the wing escaping or slipping away. The grip is clear. At the ends, the tips go up and make the front wing manageable for an intuitive rail to rail. We can link wide and fast curves together in an ultra natural way.

Buying guide
For whom?
You need to be a bit of a beginner as this foil is not as forgiving at low speeds as beginner foils are.
You have to go fast and he flies very fast. So you have to keep up physically and technically.
For what ?
It is clearly a foil intended for very high performance in registers where speed is the key.
What size?
The Veloce MT has a wingspan of 78cm, 1050cm2, and a volume of 0.71L. The surface area is small with a very thin profile of 1.4cm thick.
- In surf foil: less than 70kg in normal waves and less than 95kg in size waves.
- In wing: less than 70kg or very good level and sustained wind.
- In kite foil: less than 95kg.
Which quiver?
With a Veloce, an aluminum mast or a carbon V2 are sufficient because the wingspan of these front wings is moderate in small sizes. But it is obvious that with an HM you will gain a lot of stiffness. Essential if you are really powerful in the turns or on large sizes, an HM carbon mast will allow you to transmit 100% of the forces to the front wing. The gain in stiffness and dynamism is incredible.
When surf foiling, you can use any board from our range with the Veloce, but for more maneuverability, a performance board like the Matata or the Lethal will be perfect.
Same for front wing, it can adapt to everything but it is more in the tempo of a short board.
In downwind SUP foil, it will work perfectly with a Cruzader which will allow you to pick up a lot of speed to get into the swell before takeoff.
Foil positioning?
For beginners in GONG foils, place the plate in the middle of the US rails in front wing and in the front third in paddle start.
The further you move it forward, the more it raises the board. The further you move it back, the more the nose of the board dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let the back foot work, especially when coming from the kite foil. However, moving the foil back a little forces you to put more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces the effort.

Warning:
The practice of the Foil carries risks of major accidents. A bad mastery of the Foil can cause cuts, serious wounds, even death, for you and/or others.
The Foil must be practiced taking all the precautions when used in Kite because they are increased in comparison to those related to the Foilsurf. Remember that the Foil is long, sharp, and can reach high speeds. To be hit by a Foil, or to strike a third party can have dramatic consequences.
Foil always far from others, in safe and unobstructed water.
The Foil is mainly used in the light wind. This one can fall and force you to go swimming. Therefore, do not overestimate your strengths: never go further than what you can swim under present and announced conditions.
Wear a helmet and protective jacket to ensure your buoyancy. Always wear a full neoprene wetsuit.
When handling the foil, be careful not to cut yourself on the trailing edges.
GONG declines all responsibility in the event of an accident involving a GONG Foil. The Foil practice and its benefits/consequences is under the sole responsibility of the Foil user.
