Introduction

The 10’1 river is a board especially developed for use in whitewater rivers.

Its compact shape is designed so that it does not pearl in the descents of light rapids. It cuts through without the nose sticking to the water.

The great thickness translates into great rigidity which limits the deformation of the board in whitewater and allows you to stay high on the water in all situations.

The overall width of the board provides maximum stability on rough waters and the generous square tail allows you to step back on the board without sinking. It is thus very easy to pivot on the spot with dry feet.

With a superb design, the Couine Marie RIVER is really a very nice Stand Up Paddle board at a record price.

In a nutshell

This compact shape is ideal for use in rivers and for short strolls. Its fluid lines are designed to promote maneuvering and stability. It is a clever adaptation of the thousands of templates that we have developed over the past 30 years that allows for such efficient and facilitating behavior.

This compact shape has generous dimensions to offer maximum stability. The board is wide from the beam to the tail and the thickness provides a lot of rigidity. This is the perfect shape for staying upright when going through the rapids.

On a stroll, we appreciate its glide specific to inflatable boards, all in fluidity. In single fin set-up the board offers good paddling speed. It’s super versatile!

Rocker: almost constant and with lifted nose, getting you over the rapids very well.

Rails: soft and round throughout which provides a very cool grip.

Volume: significant thickness and therefore maximum volume for rigidity.

Outline: a generous square tail, lots of stability in the center and a nose that is slimmer so as not to push too much water when cruising.

Tail: width to step back without sinking.

Nose: round nose of moderate width.

Understanding the GONG range

What is the difference between our First range and Couine Marie range ?

What quiver?

This board should be paired with a 100% GONG Carbon Mix paddle cut to size or adjustable, and 4 high-end flexible FCSII fins.

What length of paddle?

The way you paddle, your stance and the frequency at which you paddle will depend on your program. You will need a longer paddle for touring for multiple hours, while you would need a shorter paddle for surfing in order to facilitate quick and strong paddle strokes to catch a wave. Take your time to pick the right length/setting for your paddle, because it will help give you the stability and performance you will need.

Examples:
For a 100% surfing session, set your paddle between your waist and +10cm.
For more relaxed surfing, a +10cm paddle will be perfect.
For a ride, set your paddle between +10 and +20cm.

Which leash?

Please note: the use of a leash is strongly discouraged in rivers. The current could block you on an obstacle and the leash could make the situation worse. Downriver trips, even when the water flow is low, require considerable experience and serious and professional safety measures. Wear an approved vest, have quick release systems and all the safety equipment, and above all do not ride alone. Ideally, have a professional accompany you who will train you and ensure your safety. Don’t take any chances because the worst has unfortunately already happened. Caution, caution, caution.

For the calm water strolls on the Couine Marie RIVER, a 10 ’leash is ideal. Depending on your preferences, you can choose an ankle or a knee leash.

Check its condition before each session and change it every year. This is your life jacket.

Good to know:

Never leave your board in the sun, let alone an inflatable board which will heat up very quickly. You risk seeing it peel off because the materials it is made of become flexible in the heat. Never store it under a car window, or in contact with a heat source.

Equipments

The Couine Marie RIVER is delivered with a set of FCSII standard quad fins: 2 side L and 2 rear S. When you consider that the daggerboards account for 50% of a board’s performance, it was crucial for GONG to supply daggerboards adapted to the board’s programme. The quad setup with the 4 FCSII standard fins makes it easier to ride in rough and shallow areas

It is equipped with all the high-end accessories:

a new ultra-worked Velvet Traction Pad which now equips all our top-end boards;
a central padded handle in soft neoprene;
ergonomic silicone racing carrying handles;
handles on the nose and tail to carry with someone else or exiting the water;
our ELS feature for very simply and firmly attaching bags / bottles etc. to your board;
4 FCSII fins;
a spacious and robust wheeled bag.

It is equipped with five carrying handles to grab the board easily. A central handle to carry the board under the arm.

Two “turtle” handles in the front third that allow you to go through a difficult passage in the river, or to get out of the water dragging the board over the water. A front handle to lift the board out of the water. A rear handle to hold the board in the water. All of these handles around the board are a plus for river use. Really practical!

The Couine Marie SUP boards are now equipped with our ELS feature (Extendable Load System). These adjustable, elastic and aesthetic straps have been specially designed to allow you to easily install all your equipment on board.

We have made using the ELS system extremely easy and intuitive. The elastic straps are easy to adjust. No more struggle to slip (sometimes in vain) your bag under the bungee cords at the risk of crushing your stuff. Simply loosen the straps, install your gear, and retighten them to perfectly fix your load.

Our ELS feature simplifies your life and saves you precious time while bringing a touch of style and modernity to your board!

The large diameter leash ring is the strongest on the market. And we’ve added a towing ring for safety, but also because it’s really handy to have an attachment point on the nose during transport, at anchor, or to secure a camera.

The new 5 mm Traction Velvel Pad is particularly designed to be even more comfortable. Very aesthetic, it offers a perfect grip and a velvet touch! The feeling is ultra soft and you can feel the board perfectly under your feet. The board is all the more responsive. Long sessions without tiring or slipping are all yours!

The supplied double-action inflation pump is super efficient to be the first in the water.

A repair kit is also included in the event of damage (note the kit is delivered without glue which you will easily find in your DIY store). Note that we have the components of your board in stock in order to repair it fairly easily.

Everything comes in a super practical and solid rolling carry bag. The wheels are on the opposite side to the carrying face so as not to pinch your buttocks when walking and not to roll on the carrying straps. These backpack straps are very padded and comfortable. The handles are super strong and comfy. The large front pocket allows you to store your accessories and personal effects without risking losing them. And the compression straps keep the bag volume to a minimum.

Delivery

Delivery delay

We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.

The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.

We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.

Shipping fees

Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.

Tracking your package

Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.

Carriers

We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.

For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.

For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.

Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.

Eco-responsible packaging

Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.

The most important thing is to sell quality, durable products that will be repairable and will please you for a long time.

For our shipments, we use:

Scotch craft paper.

Final packaging in high-end cardboard.

For rigid boards: Flexi-Hex, very high resistance ecological packaging.

Maximum protection and impact resistance for rigid boards thanks to the innovative Flexi-Hex honeycomb design (35mm thick).

Receipt of your product

Upon delivery, check the condition of your package in the presence of the carrier. A complete explanation email on the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.

Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.

Note that the products are protected in their carton. If you have any doubts, simply refuse delivery and contact us.
