Why use a harness?

1/ longer: you can relieve yourself to ride for hours or long tacks, and save energy for the next day.
2/ faster: being in the harness allows you to lock the Wing to make it more efficient when overpowered, and also allows you to fully sheet in without much effort.

Its weight? It’s super light. It really disappears in the phases when you’re not using it and that’s exactly what we wanted: all the benefits of a harness without the heaviness of a kite or windsurf harness.

Its shape is minimalist but neat in the details with a level of support that will relieve you without encumbering you. For sessions lasting several hours or upwind tacks following a long downwind, it’s a must have, but it will also become so for your one-hour lunch break session or quick after work sesh, as this harness only has advantages.

The absence of a rigid shell gives it all the flexibility you want and like when winging. First of all, it doesn’t choke you when you get back on the board. Then you don’t feel it when pumping or surfing, for example.

Super practical, its smart and quick buckle is as simplistic as it is smart. It opens in a second, which allows you to attach your leashes while keeping the possibility of removing the harness without having to undo a strap. We still recommend using our releasable leashes though 😉

 

This harness is to be equipped with one of the two following accessories (not included with the harness):
-a spreader bar in stainless steel with its cover for a better distribution of efforts. With its cover in EVA and imitation leather, it is perfectly finished and above all very comfortable. This is a must for people who already have experience with a harness and who know how to get back on their board without damaging it. The windsurf type hook is provided for quick and easy hooking and unhooking to avoid catapults.
a plastic hook for a minimalist and secure combo. Reassuring because it will not damage your board by going up on it. It’s a good compromise for your harness debut. This hook also has the advantage of being able to be slid to the side in order to paddle lying on your board.

For any session of more than an hour, using a harness is a welcome relief when you are not a pro or a fitness champion. And generally speaking, it will soon be a habit for all wingfoilers to protect their body, especially their back.

A good harness line completely changes your sessions: you save your energy for the most intense phases: jumps, surfs, maneuvers; and save yourself during the transition phases: sailing back to the peak, sailing upwind, long tacks.

Saving your energy during the session also allows you to recover more quickly from your efforts for the up-coming sessions of the week or the weekend! What is the point of riding full on for 1 hour when you can do 3 hours every day for the same effort?

Construction

Noble materials have been chosen for their functionality: there is neoprene inside for comfort, a technical assembly of foams for support and a strap all around for longevity and resistance.

The seams and assemblies are perfect, each seam has been thought out and tested on dozens of prototypes before final validation: you have been longing for it, so we made it to perfection.

Its assembly of foams and straps is really comfortable. No rigid shell that would have hindered freedom of movement. Wing foiling efforts are often less intense and we have decided to favor freedom of movement over unnecessary rigidity.

The fastening system is very simple and well thought out, on one side our new buckle system developed by our materials / structure engineer and on the other a high-end buckle to finalize the attachment of the strap.

The GONG buckle system is made of stainless steel to avoid corrosion, it is above all very practical for quickly detaching while keeping its usual setting: it’s simple, clever and terribly effective.

The sheathed Dyneema line at the back of the harness allows you to attach your board leash as well as your wing leash if you wish. And as we have thought of everything, you can remove it for a new one without having to open your sewing kit.

The only part that can wear out is the strap on which your spreader bar or harness hook will slide, this part is therefore easily replaceable by ordering a spare strap on our website: zero stress, everything is provided for the durability of this product.

  • We sell simply without an intermediary thanks to the internet: direct from Shaper to Surfer at the LOWEST price.
  • If we sold this board in a surfshop, it would cost 149€ (taking into account traditional margins that we should offer to distributers and stores).

 

Shipping

Availability:

The dates of availability of all our products are written on each product page, in the size and colour of the product concerned.

These dates are valid at the moment you consult the site and/or place an order. It is possible that this product may be ordered a few seconds after your consultation. It then becomes unavailable. If you have placed an order, this change does not concern you: the product you order is still available on the date indicated at the time of your order.

We sell several thousand products per week. The stocks are therefore very evolutionary. But our management always shows you the real availability live.

If it’s available online: it’s available ?

 

Pre-order:

Some articles are proposed in pre-order during their routing to our premises. You can buy this article which will arrive at our place in a few weeks. This method avoids the fair to grab upon receipt of the lot and the disappointed ones who would not order within the hour.

Upon receipt, we will ship it to you as a regular order.

The times indicated on the pre-orders are 95% reliable. First of all, because we only pre-sell finished products that are arriving to us after Customs, and therefore shipped right after. And also, because we add decent margins with concern to the dates announced by the shipping companies or railways.

However, a Worker Strike, a breakdown, an overbooking, can unfortunately happen. In the case of a delay, you will be notified by email (check your spam). It is generally less than a week and totally independent of our good will.

As soon as we receive the container in La Baule, we ship your order within three working days. Then the carrier takes over: delivery time and tracking numbers are under their responsibility.

It is possible that the date displayed on the online for the pre-order of the item you have ordered and paid for may change for two reasons:

  • All quantities of the batch are sold (most common reason). In this case, orders placed for the first container will be delivered as scheduled.
  • The container is late and we have to shift the date by a few days. (Strikes, breakdowns, overbooking, can unfortunately happen). You will be notified by email.

We never change the delivery dates of a container without notifying customers.

 

Delays:

The dates that we announce are shipping deadlines, which GONG has in stock and available here physically.

We usually give a shipping time within 3 days, but in most cases, we ship within 24/48 hours. Normally morning orders leave in the afternoon for example.

Then the transport service takes over. The variables are then important between the customer being delivered to France (very fast) or Bulgaria (a good week) or to a forwarding agent or to Asia or the USA… You understand that each location has its own type of delay.

We work with serious and well-known carriers. They do their utmost to make you happy even if a snafu can happen. In any case, we are there to make things easier and to arrange our customers.

 

Shipping Fees: 

Contrary to others, we do not hide shipping costs in the price of our products. At GONG everyone knows exactly what he pays. The transport is charged at its strictest value, and the person who comes to pick up his products does not pay hidden transport fees.

Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address. To this is added a labour time of order preparation.

The invoicing of the shipping costs is identical in continental France and in the bordering European countries. A surcharge is automatically invoiced for deliveries to the most distant European countries and all European islands.

For a shipment in French overseas departments and territories or outside Europe, our logistics department will contact you before the payment stage to give you an estimate of the shipping costs. You will be able to accept this estimate and pay your order, or refuse it and cancel your order.

We answer you within 24 hours by email. But 95% of your questions are answered on the site. Try to use our contact form which will guide you to all these answers.

Tracking of your parcels :

The tracking of deliveries is directly ensured by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your parcels. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose the delivery methods and to follow the route of your package.

If you ask us for this tracking, we will have to do as you do: we will go see on the carrier’s app because they are the ones who manage and are responsible for this job.

 

Delivery:

We collaborate with the best transport providers to deliver you everywhere in Europe and in the world in very short delays.

We have chosen them for their quality of service and their respect of deadlines. 80% of your orders reach their destination in less than 48 hours of processing in metropolitan and continental France.

For Europe, the delays vary from 3 to 6 days depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delays can be up to 15 days.

Please note that the transport time is added to the preparation/shipping time. Two companies work on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one controls its activity and commits itself to optimize its delays so that you are delivered as soon as possible, in good condition and at a reasonable price.

    Coming from a Windsurf background using harness for years, this one feels super light and confortable. You can use if for a couple of hours and you don’t feel it, even in Jumps etc it doesn’t get in your way. I use it when I want to do some long upwind stretches or when I want to test the limit of how fast I can go.

    Je ne reviens pas sur toutes les qualités déjà décrites sur ce harnais.
    Comme les collègues,je le trouve super et ne peut plus m’en passer.
    Je rajoute 2 remarques :
    1.Dans le cas de la wing,le harnais vous protège de façon importante des tendinites du massif de l’épaule,et plus on vieillit,plus on est sensible à ce niveau là 😁.
    2.un truc plus technique.
    en desserrant(très facilement )la boucle de serrage à droite ,on peut faire tourner le harnais afin de positionner le crochet (plastique ou spreader bar)d’un côté.
    Super utile dans le très light quand vous voulez à la rame(par exemple sur une Cruzader qui est une bombe a la rame 😁))rejoindre une zone de rafales…et voilà 😁

    Je ne m’imagine plus naviguer sans.
    Je l’ai pris avec le Spreader bar et franchement c’est parfait.
    Il est hyper léger et confortable. Il s’attache et se détache très facilement et il tient parfaitement bien en navigation.
    Et en voyage, comme il s’aplatit complètement, il est très facile à glisser dans le boardbag.

    J’utilise le harnais depuis quelques sessions et je me pose la question suivante : pourquoi n’ai-je pas commencé avant ???
    On se fatigue beaucoup moins. Le voile se cale toute seule devant nous. Les remontées au vent sont meilleures. Comme je l’avais lu, on joue avec le bassin dans le surventes pour moins border … ou pas ^^
    Je retrouve clairement les sensations de windsurf qui me manquaient avec la wing, je suis conquis.
    Utilisation des boot L pour neutra 5 et SP6 et M pour neutra 3,5. On trouve ça court 2 minutes et ensuite, on se demande si on aurait pas du prendre plus petit.
    Juste une petite remarque : c’est dommage de ne pas avoir mis de petite poche pour la clé de voiture comme sur la ceinture leash. A part ça, le harnais est top, très confortable, je ne m’en sépare plus !!

    Je ride depuis 3ans en wing et depuis le départ « accroché » à ma wing. Au départ avec les harnais de Wind puis Kite puis crochet en impression 3D et enfin un harnais wing d’une autre marque.
    J’aime bien naviguer toile histoire d’être sûr de voler et aussi de longues heures minimum 1h30 parfois jusqu’à 5h 😅🔥, et souvent, 2/5fois ou + 😎 par semaine.
    Ça me permet d’emmagasiner un maximum d’expérience et de plaisir sur l’eau c’est pourquoi depuis le départ le harnais est indispensable pour moi, sinon je ne tiendrai pas physiquement.(42ans)
    Clairement le harnais GONG est le meilleur que j’ai pu tester, jusqu’à présent.
    Il est à la fois très simple, souple, confortable et léger.
    Je l’ai pris en L pour un gabarit de 187cm pour 87kg, avec la barre en taille 10.
    Il est hyper bien pensé, l’attache métal est super pratique, le renfort dorsal pile comme il faut suffisamment large pour avoir du maintien et du confort mais pas trop gros pour minimiser l’encombrement. Il y’a un boot gainé derrière pour accrocher les leashs largables de wing et de planche.
    Il permet vraiment de se caler en navigation et d’optimiser le pilotage. On remonte au près comme jamais en session vagues, freeride ou slalom, on peut bien se concentrer sur les phases critiques surfs, sauts, jibes, tacks car on a capitalisé son énergie avant grâce au harnais.
    Associé au boots de harnais Gong c’est un régal qui eux mêmes se fixent sur les boucles prévues à cet effet sur toutes les wings GONG c’est une évidence.
    C’est un coup à prendre quand on remonte sur la planche avec le crochet je n’ai jamais frotté ou abîmé ma planche avec question d’habitude.
    Vraiment je conseille à tous de naviguer au harnais du débutant au pro ça change vraiment la donne quand on aime passer du temps sur l’eau comme moi.
