Full Quick Release Aka 3
Program
A quick release for every practice !
Introduction
The new AKA 3 quick release, which is approved by the AFNOR NF S-52 503 standard (release system on a front line, among others) and ISO 21853, is very easy to release and to re-arm, including at sea of course.
The length of the AKA 3 quick release has been reduced by 2cm compared to the AKA 2 quick release system. This innovation will appeal to the youngest, kitefoilers and waveriders.
The AKA 3 quick release offered in spare parts consists of :
- a Chicken Loop of variable sizes to suit all practices
- a lock tube (except for size XS)
- the approved AKA 3 quick release system
- an untwisting device.
The AKA 3 quick release is available with several sizes of Chicken Loop to suit the habits of all riders and different kitesurfing disciplines. You can quickly switch from a waveriding-style kite bar to a freestyle-style kite bar. Adapting the size of the Chicken Loop to the quick release system is quick and easy, to allow you to evolve in the best conditions.
The untwisting device makes it possible to limit the turns in the front. New to the AKA3: the untwisting device is overmolded to absorb shocks with the bar and the untwisting device under load but it is also designed to allow its fronts to unwind with a little help thanks to its ball bearing (with or without voltage in the lines).
Choosing the right size
We offer you the AKA 3 quick release with 4 different sizes for the Chicken Loop to meet the needs of all riders:
- Size XS: The Chicken Loop for riders equipped with a sliding rope harness. Ideal to practice surf kite in the waves or kitefoil! The chicken loop slides on the harness which guarantees a real gain in comfort during your wave sessions! Please note, this chicken loop is not equipped with a lock tube and cannot be used with a harness equipped with a stainless steel hook. A friction ring can be added in the chicken loop to prevent wear on the harness rope.
- Size S: The traditional Chicken Loop with a small diameter loop to meet the expectations of waveriders, foilers but also the little ones!
- Size M: The size that corresponds to all practices. It will meet all the expectations of riders, it is the most versatile Chicken Loop (it is provided with the purchase of a complete kite bar).
- Size L: Chicken Loop equipped with a loop with a large diameter to satisfy committed Freestylers.

Safe Quick Release AKA3: French patented quick release system that respects the AFNOR NF S-52 503 standard, simple and efficient. The release by pushing avoids unwanted releases. This new fully demountable quick release is ultra compact: it is the shortest on the market equipped with a untwisting device in its upper part. On average 4 to 5 cm shorter than a usual quick release system. Four sizes of loops are available in spare parts (XS for rope harnesses (not equipped with a lock tube) / S for wave sessions, kite foiling or for children / M standard size which is suitable for all practices / L for freestyle sessions).
-
The new untwisting system is easier to handle and above all it untwists your lines under load with very little effort, even automatically thanks to the new integrated ball bearing. It has been improved to reduce head wear from impact with the bar. And it offers increased overall resistance: load tests at 800 kg carried out brilliantly! It is a guarantee of safety and sustainability.
-
The T Bone makes it even easier to release under load: Clamcleat has shown that 4 kg is enough to release with several hundred kg of load. The Afnor standard imposes only 10 kg for 200 kg of load. The AKA V3 quick release is therefore much more efficient than the Afnor NF S-52 503 standard. Above all, it is extremely easy to rearm at sea or in the sand.
-
The untwisting system and the T Bone are made by the english company Clamcleat, well-know for 50 years in the nautical industry for their light and efficient cleats.
-
The lock tube made of semi rigid plastic is designed to avoid unintentional unhooking.

Safety :
We must remind you that kite surfing is a sport of risk. Never go out in conditions to heavy for your skill and weight level. Never over-estimate yourself. Never practice the sport alone. Wind ranges and speeds that are announced are informative but only you can decide on any given day whether or not you go into the water. Please be prudent and take caution seriously.
The minute you launch a kite in the air you take on responsability for your actions towards yourself and to those around you that you could put in harms way and/or even kill, property included.
Release systems are an ”aid”. In no circumstance do they replace responsible and prudent behavior. If you act in a irresposible fashion and take risks, no system exists that offers full protection.
Kite lines are particularly dangerous and may cut you. Never take a line in hand when it is under tension. Never fly your kite around people because you put them at risk of being cut. Take note that wet lines may act as conductors for electricity in case of lighting and they can become electrified. Be Extremely Prudent.
The release of a kite is only efficacious if it is anticipated. If you are incapable of an anticipated release you will be incapable of doing it without risk. Kitesurfing requires anticipation skills in order to be practiced correctly. Do not enter into dangerous cul de sac situations and regularly un-cross/tangle your forward lead lines.
RESPECT the inherent security rules that exist for the sport of Kitesurfing, Thank you.
