The Mob is a short SUP that is easy to surf and performs very well in soft waves. This 2Taste version is equipped with US rails allowing the attachment of a foil for SUP and wing foiling.

Presentation

It’s the queen of versatility with its foil assembly which allows it to hunt on three territories: SUP, SUP foiling and wing.In SUP The Mob’s shape gives you a modern style in soft waves (rollers, cut back, 360 °, airs), even on windy waves and shifty peaks. This load-bearing and compact shape is packed with dynamism and relaunch power: a real turbo and a treat in slow waves

When paddling, it just flies with its fast rocker. Its raised nose allows you to get past the waves easily. And it is comfy at standstill with its wide ends. This is what allows you to step down a size and have a responsive and playful board.

In surfing, it takes off early for its size with its wide tail that the wave pushes. From the first pump you feel it is very efficient thanks to its high natural acceleration. A pro will use it to score on soft days. A SUPer of a medium level will love this instantaneous speed that will allow him to make good use of the sections.

It’s a wide register board that will be comfortable in curves and tricks. The board is evenly balanced between the two feet unlike narrow boards on which we have 80% of the weight on the front leg. This width at the tail also gives you more downforce and power to rip on soft waves; while being less technical. More explosive in less powerful waves, that’s the plus of this Mob.

In SUP foiling

The stability of the Mob facilitates paddling and placement. Its qualities at the take off in SUP allow it to fly early and to leave on waves which barely break. In flight its rather generous size and its large compact surface calm unwanted movements. Ideal to progress. A reassuring board.

In wing foiling

It has exactly the same qualities: a simple and versatile board, which will not restrict you and take up less space in the garage than three boards ?

This is the perfect board for a smooth start to wing foiling. Even if it is less stable than a Zuma, reducing the budget of three boards to the budget of one is a real asset! With the Mob, no chance of being disappointed. At equal size it will be less stable than a pure wing board but since you will be using it in 3 sports, you will know its balance by heart.

The MOB 2Taste FSP 2X are a variation of the same shape in different volumes, lengths, widths to adapt to all builds and levels. You can take the size that best fits your weight to tear the spot apart or, on the contrary, oversize it for comfort.

We offer them in 4 sizes: 7’2, 7’6, 7’11 and 8’3.

The stability of the Mob facilitates paddling and placement. Its qualities at the take off in SUP allow it to fly early and to leave on waves which barely break. In flight its rather generous size and its large compact surface calm unwanted movements. Ideal to progress. A reassuring board.

Shape
Tail

The swallow tail brings radicalism in surfing without compromising control. It offers a strong downforce on one rail and the other, freeing the tail when you want to pull up the board on a top turn, or tighten the turns. Indeed, the excess water pressure can escape into the Vee of the swallow tail while letting the tips guide the trajectory.

Nose

The round nose is less bulky especially in reentry curves down the face. The smaller surface area makes it possible to lighten the front third: the radicalism progresses strongly and the sensation of liveliness is crazy.

Outline

The outline of the board is more compact, with a range of sizes that is less spread out over the lengths. The boards are all small boards, even in large volumes. Maximum performance!  The distribution of the volume gives a very natural flow to this Mob, without breaks or camel deck. Its drive is beautiful and predictable. The deck plan is convexe for thin rails all the way down the board. We have volume in the center and a very thin shaped waistband, synonymous with performance and elegance.

Hull

The hull is always more worked, year after year, on these shapes by the L’Ours with:

  • A belly on the nose (slightly convex) which diffuses water and softens the contact when paddling or on touchdowns.
  • A simple concave in the center to stabilize the board when paddling and channel water to the fins to maximize lift and acceleration with that important grip in the front foot.
  • A double concave at the front fins which will cling to the water and tunnel the flow on the return fins (the lateral and quad fins). Goal top speed!
  • A slight Vee to double concave tail that frees flow while letting the board tilt freely from one rail to another. We have an active hull which provides 50% more performance compared to a flat hull. What seems anecdotal is in fact crucial to obtain a strong performance from the other parameters of the shape. We could sum it up by saying that the outline distributes the downforce on the water and that the hull defines the flow of the water.

Rails

The rails are in symbiosis with the outline and the hull to ensure optimal penetration of the shape into the water. Nothing is left to chance:

  • The rail at the nose is very round so as not to make mistakes. Thus, it does not bite into the water and allows complete freedom of trajectory on steep faces, while softening contacts when paddling.
  • In the center, the rail gets a ridge, an edge, more protruding to start guiding the trajectory and giving more balance when paddling.
  • The harder rails at the fins, more square, gives more precision in the curves by defining lift angles and therefore bank angles in the water. So the board will find its angle of curve under your pressure and the rail will then be optimum on this angle, neither too deep nor not enough, to ensure perfect grip, control and liveliness.
  • The vertical rail at the tail optimizes water outlets for maximum speed.

Buying guide

For whom?

For someone looking for the greatest versatility because it is the hybrid Board par excellence.

For someone that’s not a beginner because its thin rails make it a precise shape that is not suitable for the first steps.

  • In SUP, you have a good Quiver and want a shorter Board.
  • In SUP foil, you need to know how to row straight on a classic SUP. The rest is just a matter of method and time in the water to progress.
  • In wing foiling, the Mob is an accessible board for a beginner but rather dedicated to those who already know how to fly and want a board to do everything.

In bigger volume, it is easy, but in small sizes you will have to be in good physical condition or be a lightweight rider.

For what?

The Mob is a relatively compact SUP, which aims for the best performance in soft waves.

  • Easy to get into the car, stable when standstill, its shape is all about acceleration. A powerful and playful SUP board.
  • In SUP Foil, the addition of foil gives it the performance in waves that hardly break.
  • With a wing, it’s a little long Board that will also work when you’re not flying. Less performant and a little less easy than a Zuma, but the advantage of the Swiss Army Knife.

What size?

In SUP foiling, you absolutely must have a positive volume balance. Your weight plus that of the board must be less than the volume of the board. Don’t hesitate to add some volume and width if you are not comfortable yet with your stance.

You can take enough volume to float, in the range of your weight + 30 = volume.

  • For example: I weigh 75kg + 30 = 105L to float. Which means that with a 7’2 of 101L I should manage as long as I’m not a beginner in SUP foiling. If I want to be very comfortable, I should go for a 7’6 of 121L.

In wing foiling, you can take it with a very generous volume if you are a beginner. And if you already have a good level you will on the contrary go for a volume at the limit of the rule illustrated here above for SUP foiling.

How to choose the size of the board bag for my Wing Foil Board Mob 2Taste?

Understanding the GONG range?

The concept of each board of the range can be summed up very simply:

  • HIPE First: the perfect inflatable board to learn wing foiling!
  • HIPE Free Fly: the best of strapless on an inflatable foil board.
  • HIPE Perf: the inflatable foil board with 95% of the performance of a rigid board, in an easy and scalable shape.
  • HIPE Cruzader Strapless: the strapless inflatable board with 95% of the performance of a rigid  board with an ultra specialized shape, ideal for light wind winging and chilled out SUP foiling.
  • HIPE Cruzader strapped : the inflatable board with 95% of the performance of a rigid  board with an ultra specialized shape, for the highest performance in light wind winging.
  • HIPE Pro: the inflatable board with 95% of the performance of a rigid one with a shape dedicated to advanced foilers who want fluidity and maximum responsiveness!
  • Mob 2taste: three sports in one board: SUP, SUP foiling and wing foiling.
  • Zuma: the easy rigid board for SUP foiling and wing foiling, and with good performance.
  • Lance: the compact Zuma, with great lateral stability, ideal for beginnings in wing foiling.
  • Cruzader: fantastic in SUP downwinders, pumping on the flat, but also in light wind conditions in wing foiling.
  • Flint: high performance in SUP foiling, great in wing foiling because it is simple and efficient in light wind.
  • Kube: pure freestyle board. Minimum length for maximum rotation.
  • Mint: compact without being too technical thanks to a perfect length and its round nose. Great performance in strapless too.
  • Lemon: maximum reactivity and liveliness, while maintaining stability.
  • Lethal: Absolute radicality among volume boards

Some will go for even more extreme with low volume boards like:

Which quiver?

The Mob is really the all-rounder in foil boarding. So, it’s going to take up a very large part of your quiver.

You can of course complete it with a range of stand-up paddleboards without foil. And surfboards for those days when the waves are unsuitable for foil.

For the pros:

The Curve H, Fluid H, Veloce H, Ypra or Ypra S ranges are very high performance and fast wings: remember that the H versions offer an insane glide for each of their specific use. The Ypra wings for instance are simply the wings of our pro team on the World Tour.

In the Curve H range: wings with a crazy glide that love to draw pretty lines, with a smooth and eaaaaasy glide:

  • S for those under 75kg or heavier riders in winds above 20 knots.
  • M for those under 85kg or heavier riders in winds above 15 knots.

  • L for everyone and heavier riders in winds above 12 knots.
  • XL for everyone in light conditions and the heavier riders in winds below 20 knots.
  • XXL for everyone in very light wind and the heavier riders in winds below 12 knots.

In the Veloce H range: fast wings with a crazy glide that love curves, and still are easy at low speed:

  • S for those under 75kg or heavier riders in winds above 20 knots.
  • M for those under 85kg or heavier riders in winds above 15 knots.
  • L for everyone and heavier riders in winds above 12 knots.
  • XL for everyone in light conditions and the heavier riders in winds below 20 knots.
  • XXL for everyone in very light wind and the heavier riders in winds below 12 knots.

  • S for those under 65kg or the heavier riders in winds above 20 knots.
  • M for those under 75kg or the heavier riders in winds above 15 knots.
  • L for everyone and the heavier riders in winds above 12 knots.
  • XL for everyone in the light and the heavier riders in winds below 20 knots.

In the Ypra S range for Slalom : racing wings with maximum curves / jibes, also great for Freestyle:

  • XS for those under 55kg or the heavier riders in winds above 20 knots.

In the Sirus range: wings with the ultimate aspect ratio for marginal conditions:

  • L for those under 75kg in winds under 12 knots.
  • XL for those under 85kg in winds under 8/10 knots or the heavier riders in winds under 15 knots.
  • XXL for those under 95kg in winds under 6/8 knots or the bigger riders in winds less than 12 knots.
  • 3XL for everyone in the very light wind and the bigger riders in winds under 10 knots.

At this level, everyone can adapt their equipment to their needs. Just remember that the wingspan is a point to take into consideration when riding high aspect ratios. The glide is fabulous, but be careful not to sacrifice maneuverability and rail-to-rail precision by using large sizes if you are looking for a very reactive drive. This is why even the pros do not necessarily ride in high aspect ratios!

The size of the front wing and in particular its surface and its volume condition the speed/lift ratio. The smaller the wing, the faster you will go but the more uncomfortable you will be at low speeds. The bigger the wing, the earlier you will fly but you’ll be penalized in handling and top speed.

 Which Stab?

The stabs have a major role. They determine the stability of the foil and help with its lift, but to the detriment of the maximum speed of the foil and its maneuverability if they are too large. The role of the stabilizer is to stabilize the foil but also to compensate for the natural tendency of the front wing to dive. So you must have a good balance of surfaces between your stab and your front wing. A 38 cm stab with an XXL wing will give a catastrophic result at high speed: the foil will dive at high speed because the stab will no longer be able to lift enough to counteract the nosediving torque of the front wing.

Remember that the stab must be proportional to the front wing. This is why we have named them S M L XL like the front wings so that you can pair them easily. Creating an imbalance brings no benefit except the illusion of better glide.

Thus the X-Over stabs are slower than the Fluid or Veloce stabs, but are much more lifty, and therefore effective at low speed or with a large front wing (for beginners for example). The Curve stab is at the border of these two worlds and the Freestyle stab is 100% dedicated to radical moves.

In the X-Overrange: super easy and effective stabs from low speeds to progress smoothly:

  • L 44 for those under 75kg and for everyone in winds above 15 knots.
  • XL 48 for those over 75kg and for everyone in winds below 20 knots.

In the Curve range: very simple stabs that love beautiful curves, with a stable and smooth glide:

  • S 36 for those under 65kg and for everyone in winds over 25 knots.
  • M 39 for those under 75kg and for everyone in winds over 20 knots.
  • L 43 for those under 85kg and for everyone in winds above 15 knots.
  • XL 46 for those over 95kg and for everyone in winds of less than 20 knots.

In the Fluid H range: stabs with a crazy glide for a radical drive but easy and relatively fast:

  • S 38 for those under 65kg and for everyone in winds over 25 knots.
  • M 42 for those under 75kg and for everyone in winds above 18 knots.
  • L 45 for those under 85kg and for everyone in winds above 12 knots.
  • XL 47 for those over 95kg and for everyone in winds below 20 knots.
  • XXL 49 for everyone in very light winds and bigger people in winds below 12 knots.

In the Veloce H range: the fast stabs dedicated to high speeds which are off your mind when riding:

  • S 36 for those under 65kg and for everyone in winds over 25 knots.
  • M 40 for those under 75kg and for everyone in winds above 20 knots.
  • L 44 for those under 85kg and for everyone in winds above 15 knots.
  • XL 47 for those over 95kg and for everyone in winds below 20 knots.

In theFreestyle range: stabs totally dedicated to tricks with a psycho pop and tight curves:

  • S 39 for those under 65kg and for everyone in winds over 25 knots.
  • M 41 for those under 75kg and for everyone in winds over 20 knots.
  • L 44 for those under 85kg and for everyone in winds above 15 knots.
  • XL 46 for those over 95kg and for everyone in winds of less than 20 knots.

Which foil mast?

In SUP foiling

The65cm aluminium Allvator V2 is perfect. If you are a pro, go for the70 HM Carbon Mast: amazing.

In wing foiling

In other words, everything will be played out between 85cm and 100cm. You can find all our advice on choosing between these two lengths by clicking here.

In summary, for waves and freestyle, but also for beginners and progressing, an 85 mast is ideal. Simple to put in the water, an easy rail to rail, it’s perfect. A 90 cm mast and above is great for Racing by offering more margin at high speed, namely in choppy conditions, but isn’t as maneuverable. All our masts : here.

Positioning of the foil?

For GONG foils, place the plate in the rear third when you start and in the center of the US rails when you progress. The Pros can position the foil even further towards the front for more lift and maneuverability.

The more you move it forward, the more the board will pitch nose-up. The more you move it backwards, the more the board nose-dives.

Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let their back foot work, especially when we come from kite foiling. However, moving the foil back a little, forces more weight on the back foot and gives a more harmonious attitude and reduces effort.

How long is the paddle?

If you want to use the Mob in SUP foil you will need a paddle between your height -10cm and your height. The easiest and least traumatic for your back is to have a paddle at your height.

A long paddle relieves the physical exertion, especially in the lower back as you have to work yourself up at the take off. The effort is intense.

A short paddle gives more speed and less discomfort in the air. But it damages the back because we tend to row too much behind our feet, which forces on the lumbar vertebrae.

Which leash?

Take a8′ of 7mm minimum diameter or a 9′ for the 2 biggest boards.

Check its condition before each session and change it every year. It is your lifejacket and the life insurance of the people in front of you.

Strap or Strapless?

Riding strapless is sexy because it makes you feel free. But quite honestly, it’s not the best for performance…

So, it’s up to you to see if sensation prevails over performance. On a Mob, we’re clearly going to miss 50% of its potential without the straps.

With straps, you’ll have much more control and much less risk of getting the Foil flipping under your feet. In the waves, it’s obvious, you gain a lot with straps. You can recuperate from crazy situations just by pulling up on your feet.

Put your straps in a central position (3rd hole) for the front, and the same goes for the back strap if you still ride with the back.

If you want to be able to get the back foot out for transitions and surfing, put the back strap on the first hole.

How to place and adjust your straps?

Good to know:

1/ The Mob is an easy board for foil. You can cheat by taking a big volume but keep in mind that in SUP foil it is a small board that will be complicated in the chop anyway. In Wing it’s totally painless because you have the wing to hold you back.

2/ The foil strongly stabilises a SUP when you are used to it. Do not compare the width of SUP boards without foil with SUP boards with foil. 5cm less are painless with foil, except with a strong back wash.

This extra width is necessary to speed up these very small boards when rowing and not to do a late take off.

3/ A little water on the tail stabilizes the Wing board. Sometimes too much volume is worse than anything. This is very true in compact boards that tumble.

Equipments

  • 2 US GONG Box Double Entry for standard foil plates equipped with 4 screw + nuts (9cm center distance). Compatible with our SCS system. This new system allows ultra-fast assembly of GONG foils.(INSERTS NOT SUPPLIED WITH THE BOARD).
  • 4 FCS II Glass Flex fins for a quad set-up.
  • 4 front and rear FCS II high resistance side boxes placed on PVC HD reinforcements for quad set-up.
  • 8 x 5-hole footstrap inserts to optimize your position in wing and SUP foiling.
  • 1 x large light double V-shaped front footstrap and 1 x large light rear footstrap (screws included).
  • 5 mm pad: deck coating conceived for great comfort and perfect grip.
  • Integrated carrying GONG handle on the center on the deck.
  • Leash plug to never lose your board.
  • Automatic vent screw. (LINK TO THE HOW TO)

The set of footstraps is offered with the board. For 2023 we have reviewed the outline of our straps to further improve comfort. Developed for wing foiling, these straps with less cover do not bend when put on.

More rigid, they offer a more precise steering but are still as comfortable. There is less surface area on the feet so there is less risk of staying stuck in the straps or banging your foot on the edge of the strap when rushing into it. It also allows better leeward control (tip of the foot) and therefore a more natural attitude in wing foiling.
We have worked on every detail to improve your experience on the water.

The V-shaped footstraps perfectly center the foot on the front of the board. The position is thus more natural and allows direct and precise control in maneuvers. In SUP foil the V footstrap is replaced by a second single footstrap (not included in the set).

The multi-position SUP/wing strap inserts and the US foil rails provide a multitude of adjustments, and make it possible to quickly find the ideal position for both SUP and wing.

For 2023, our SCS system launched on the HIPE is integrated on all our foil boards. It’s beautiful, efficient and above all it saves time you can spend on the water. With its 4 entries, the GONG double entry box facilitates the assembly and adjustment of the foil. Performance without the hassle. We leave the nuts and the screws on the plate, just insert the foil, screw and off we go! Setting up the foil is much faster and easier. It is the plug and play solution which facilitates adjustments! (inserts not supplied with the board).

A handle developed by our R&D and our ergonomics engineer has been integrated into our boards this year. We can better close our hands in it: a firmer and more comfortable grip. The depressurization screw is directly integrated into the handle.

It is placed on the deck to allow one-handed carrying. You can have the wing and the paddle in the other hand to get past the whitewater or to get out of the water. And as we always do things seriously, the handle is placed in a block of hydrophobic PVC foam and covered with fiber.

The integral and high-end 5mm thick Diamond pad provides maximum grip and comfort when sailing.

We offer these boards with 4 FCS II boxes. The highest standard of fin box on the market. You can therefore mount the quad fins of your choice according to your desires and your surfing style by accessing an almost endless catalog of high-end fins.

We indicate a preparation and shipping time of 3 working days. In reality, the majority of orders are shipped within 24/48 hours.

The delivery time, i.e. delivery time of the package to your home, then depends on the delivery location and the carrier.

We work with reliable and efficient carriers. 99% of shipments go perfectly and quickly. In the case of the remaining 1%, rest assured that we will do what is necessary with the carrier.

Shipping fees

Unlike other sites, shipping costs are not hidden behind the price of our products. You know exactly what shipping costs you, and you are not disadvantaged if you choose to collect your order at our GONG Space Center.

Shipping costs are calculated based on the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address.

Tracking your package

Delivery tracking is managed directly by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your packages. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose delivery methods and follow the route of your package.

Carriers

We work with the best transport societies to deliver to you throughout Europe and the world within very short deadlines. We chose them for their quality of service and their compliance with deadlines.

For mainland France, 80% of your orders arrive at their destination in less than 48 hours of processing.

For Europe, delivery times vary from 3 to 6 working days, depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delivery times depend on transit time and customs clearance time. This delay depends on customs and can last from a few days to a few weeks depending on the destination and seasonality.

Please note, transport time is added to preparation/shipping time. Two companies collaborate on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one masters its activity and is committed to optimizing its deadlines so that you are delivered as quickly as possible and at a reasonable price.

Eco-responsible packaging

Preserving the environment is an absolute priority. This is why we do everything possible to reduce our ecological footprint.

The most important thing is to sell quality, durable products that will be repairable and will please you for a long time.

For our shipments, we use:

  • Scotch craft paper.

  • Final packaging in high-end cardboard.

  • For rigid boards: Flexi-Hex, very high resistance ecological packaging.

This means:

  • Reusable and recyclable packaging.

  • An almost total reduction in single-use plastic.

  • Maximum protection and impact resistance for rigid boards thanks to the innovative Flexi-Hex honeycomb design (35mm thick).

Receipt of your product

Upon delivery, check the condition of your package in the presence of the carrier. A complete explanation email on the procedure to follow will be sent to you when your order is shipped.

Despite our requirements and all the care we take in the packaging and protection of your product, transport hazards may occur, and your product may suffer more or less significant transport damage.

Note that the products are protected in their carton. If you have any doubts, simply refuse delivery and contact us.

Warning

When you practice foil you expose yourself to possible serious risks. A poor mastering of a foil can expose you to cuts and/or serious bodily harm, even death for yourself and possibly others around you.

Foiling should be practiced, in all circumstances, by taking precautions and taking into consideration all that is involved and associated with surf/SUP sports. Remember that a foil is long and has an edge that could cause slicing and is capable of reaching very high speeds. Getting hit by a foil, or hitting another, can have dramatic and highly unwanted consequences.

Always foil far from others, and in waters that are secure and without obstacle.

Always wear a helmet andprotective vest that assures floatability. Always wear a full body neoprene wetsuit.

When handling and manipulating a foil be careful not to cut yourself along its edges.

GONG does not accept and declines any and all responsibility in case of accident that implicates a GONG foil. The practicing of this sport and the use of our equipment makes the user fully responsable for his/her actions while being a foil user.
