Vilayta, whose real name is David, comes from a village in the north of Tenerife. Everyone surfs there. His father and uncle started there with wooden surfboards. He grew up surrounded by boards and today has become a big wave rider recognized in the industry as evidenced by his nominations for the Billabong XXL Awards. He was among the first Europeans to be nominated for this prestigious ceremony and was the very first in the Monster Tube category. Today he devotes himself entirely to riding big waves in SUP and surfing.
