The construction of a twin tip is not just about solidity. It determines how comfortable you'll ride in the chop, how well you'll be able to send jumps and land with all the control you need.

To combine comfort and performance, we offer two different constructions with a common core material of wood and, to refine their specific qualities, layers of fiberglass or carbon fiber:

The core material of our boards is a must-have wood species used for high-end twintip constructions. It is Paulownia, renowned for its many technical qualities (lightness, strength, and flexibility). Note that our Carbon Pro technology twintips feature Paulownia Light, a premium selection of this material!

The specific characteristics of the fiberglass layers in our Wood Flex construction and the carbon fiber layers in our Carbon Pro construction determine the balance between comfort and performance of your twin tip.

The benefits of Paulownia

Lightness

Paulownia is extremely lightweight, making it an ideal material for twin tip boards. This helps reduce the overall weight of the board while maintaining good buoyancy. Thanks to its low weight, maneuvers, especially jumps and rotations, are easier with minimal inertia.

Resilience and solidity

Despite its lightness, Paulownia is highly resistant to impacts and deformation. This property is essential for twin tips, which endure high pressures during jump landings or repeated high-speed runs on choppy water.

Balanced flexibility

Paulownia wood is naturally flexible, which contributes to:

Maintain efficient pop, essential for jumps and tricks. Its flexibility is ideal for finding the right balance between rigidity (for performance) and flexibility (for comfort).

Paulownia is also appreciated for ecological reasons. Paulownia is a fast-growing, renewable wood species, making it an environmentally-friendly option for board manufacturers. It requires few resources to grow, and can be harvested without significantly impacting ecosystems.

Additionally, Paulownia is easy to work with, whether for cutting, sanding, or shaping. It also blends perfectly with the fiber layers and Greenpoxy bio-based resin, produced in France, which are used for our range of Made in Europe twintips.

Wood Flex Technology

The combination of a Paulownia wood core and biaxial fiberglass offers an ideal balance of lightness, strength, and flex.

Biaxial fiberglass reinforces the structure while maintaining optimal flexibility. It boosts board comfort and cushioning on landings, and makes the board even more durable.

Carbon Pro Technology

Biaxial 45° carbon is a must in the composite world. It is the carbon with the best weight-to-mechanical properties ratio. Its use results in a significant weight reduction, providing maximum comfort and enhanced sensations on the water. The Steez Carbon Pro simply fades away under your feet. From the first tack, you can focus on your freestyle moves and the joy of riding.
