GONG is stoked to announce that our team riders Francesco Cappuzzo, Bastien Escofet, and Charlie Barruzzi are ready to take on the 2025 WingFoil Racing World Cup Morocco!

The event, set to unfold from March 19 to March 23, will be hosted in the breathtaking waters of Dakhla, Morocco—one of the spots you can think of for wing foil racing.

This marks the thrilling opening round of the 2025 season, followed by stops in Switzerland, Turkey, China, and Brazil. With flat waters, steady winds, and a fierce international lineup, the stakes are high, and the competition promises to be next-level.

The GONG Riders in Action

Fresh off a stunning second-place finish in the last event in Brazil, Francesco Cappuzzo is coming in hungry, ready to push the limits and fight for the top spot. Bastien Escofet, known for his technical prowess and relentless drive, is looking to make a strong impact in Morocco. And keep an eye on Charlie Barruzzi, whose speed and strategy make her a serious contender in this high-caliber field. The entire GONG team has been training hard over the winter with the new Pulse Race Aramid CZ wing and Ypra Race setup, ensuring they are race-ready for the new season.

Dakhla: A Wingfoiling Paradise

The New Spirit Dakhla will serve as the battleground for this first showdown. With its ideal wind conditions and world-class lagoon, this Moroccan gem provides the perfect setting for high-speed, tactical racing. Local event organizer Soufiane Hamaini—a legend in the kiteboarding world—has helped bring this premier event to life, further solidifying Dakhla’s reputation as a wingfoil hotspot.

Mathis Ghio will be looking to defend his world title, but with riders like Francesco Cappuzzo and Poland’s Kamil Manowiecki closing in, this season is wide open. With new faces emerging and seasoned riders upping their game, Morocco is set to deliver an explosive start to the season.
