Wild conditions open the competition on the Bosphorus.
The 2025 Audi WingFoil Racing World Cup Türkiye kicked off in Istanbul with winds blasting in between 25 and 35 knots, pushing both athletes and gear to their limits. Against the iconic Bosphorus backdrop, 55 riders from 14 nations took on four long-distance races on day one, each starting with a full-throttle rabbit start.

A solid start from Francesco !
GONG’s Francesco Cappuzzo came out firing: Race 1 win, strong comebacks in Races 3 and 4, and holding 3rd overall after day one with points razor-close at the top. He switched between 6.0 and 5.5 Pulse Race wings with the Ypra Race 540 to match the shifting gusts. Conditions demanded constant gear changes and sharp decision-making, with gusts punishing any lapse in control. Team mate Bastien Escofet also thrived in the heavy breeze, showcasing consistency and tactical focus to stay in the front pack.
