TEAM NEWS: LEUCATE DEBRIEF FROM FRANCESCO
FreeFly-Slalom World Champion and GONG Team rider Francesco Cappuzzo made it two wins in a row at Leucate with a dominant performance!

Riding production gear he helped develop over the past year, Francesco showcased impressive form at Leucate, securing his second consecutive victory. His performance across a wide range of conditions highlighted his versatility and the exceptional tuning of his equipment. Here’s what he had to say after his win:
“This year Leucate provided prime conditions with wind everyday. We managed to complete 7 full qualifications elimination in many different conditions: flat water strong wind , wavy onshore light wind, strong onshore wind with waves and the final elimination in light wind off shore and flat again.
This actually proves a true result. I feel that I could perform well in all types of conditions, I managed to win almost all my heats and won 4 out of 7 eliminations (in 2 other finals I was leading and just crashed at the last mark ahaha). That gave me an extra boost and confidence to push the final to my max where I could put myself in the lead form the first buoy till the last claiming my first 2025 win and back to back champions here in Leucate.
I feel extremely proud to bring GONG on the top once again, and im proud to say that I was using all production gear: Ypra Race 540 with 150 tail and 112 mast, Droid SP Aramid CZ ( I used from 4.0 to 6.5) and Racer 5’6.” Francesco Cappuzzo.
