TEAM NEWS: CHASE RACING ON SWISS WATERS
The Wingfoil Racing Tour made a stop in Switzerland for the second stage of the World Cup, following the season opener in Morocco.
Spectacular pack starts, blazing speeds, silky-smooth maneuvers, and tight finishes once again lit up the competition. The riders pushed their limits in the ever-changing conditions of Lake Silvaplana.
Wing foiler: Bastien, GONG team rider, on Pulse Race, Racer FSP Pro, and Ypra Race foil.
Day 1 – Long Distance:
Bastien and Francesco shine in winds from light to 20 knots, finishing 4th and 6th. Surprise lead for Kiwi Sean Herbert ahead of Mathis Ghio.
Day 2 – Ultra Light:
Bastien climbs to 2nd overall (2nd + 1st in his heats), Francesco holds 6th despite a crash.
Days 3 & 4 – Gold Fleet:
Short, intense heats. Both riders land multiple top 3s and qualify for the Medal Series in 5th and 7th.
Final – Medal Series:
Elimination format. Bastien just misses the final (5th), Francesco closes in 7th. Mathis Ghio takes the win again, with Kamil Manowiecki 2nd. Maddalena Spanu dominates the women’s field.
