TEAM NEWS: A STRONG FIRST DAY IN FUERTE!
The team started strong in Fuerteventura, each winning their first heat!
Everything came together yesterday for a great day of competition at the Sotavento spot — sunshine, wind, and the most innovative and spectacular freestylers on the planet in wing foil. As a bonus, the draw gave us a final-before-the-final in Round 3, with our team rider Benjamin Castenskiold facing off against Chris McDonald — ranked first and second in the championship, respectively.
Before the top seeds joined directly in Round 3, the early heats were underway, where our team rider Francesco Cappuzzo easily qualified by cleanly landing a Rad7 and a Front Flip to FS 360.

Clean sweep in Round 3
The top-seed stage of the competition kicked off in Round 3 without major surprises. The favorites delivered, landing their practiced tricks successfully. On Team GONG, Malo was first to throw down his best moves. He scored over 24 points in his heat with a Front Flip to FS360, a Palau to FS360, and an FS1080. He also pushed innovation with a spectacular Palau One Foot, landed with finesse.
Malo’s precise heat management was mirrored by Bastien and Clément, both of whom won their heats with solid scores — Bastien with his signature powerful, aerial style, and Clément with his effortless flow, finishing with a strong Repop to FS720.
The non-elimination round wrapped up with the highlight heat of the day: a face-off between the championship’s top two riders. Benjamin and Chris exchanged blow-for-blow tricks, both landing FS1080s and Front Flip to FS360s. Their scores reflected the near-perfect execution. Our team rider held a slight lead going into the final tricks and sealed the win with a massive Palau to FS720. Chris responded with a solid, but not quite enough, Palau Backloop.
