NEWS: INFLATABLE SUP OR RIGID SUP?

You’re torn between an inflatable SUP and a rigid one? Choose according to the qualities of each technology which are not necessarily designed for the same activities.

Easy transport and a feeling of security with an inflatable

The choice of an inflatable SUP is often driven by storage and transport requirements. It’s the ideal machine to put in the trunk of your car or to carry in a backpack if you’re on two wheels. But it’s also a nice support to discover some places and improve.

An inflatable SUP will be more reassuring and secure: it’s hard to hurt yourself even if you fall on it. Ideal for your children, and to let your family or friends test it. It also will be simpler and more affordable to travel with on a plane, unlike a rigid board.

Good inflatable SUPs are extremely resistant, they will not fear neither the several clumsy paddle strokes of your first sessions, nor the bigger shocks. For river cruises where contact is frequent, the inflatable is also the good choice.

The rigid optimizes surfing performance

While inflatable SUPs only have a rocker on the nose portion, their planing hull remains flat. As for the rails, they remain thick and even along the entire length of the board. Whereas on rigid boards, there is real work on the shape of the planing hull and of the rails, thought for the glide and the handling of the board in the slightest details.

In surfing, the information transmitted between the water and the board is very important. Where an inflatable SUP will soak some of this information – which can be an advantage when riding on choppy water-, the rigid SUP will give you more precision.

If you’re already a surfer, or if your goal is to surf, you should consider a rigid SUP, it will give you the same feeling as the one you already know.

To sum up

If we have to talk only about performance, the advantage of the rigid is clear. But if you don’t have the ability to stock a rigid board, our inflatable boards are designed and engineered to give you maximum performance.
