HOW TO : SNAP BACK !!!

Very practical when you are a little ahead of the wave but it doesn’t offer much shoulder or you don’t want to waste too much time before projecting again into the next section, the Snap Back is one of the pillars of the SUP and certainly one of the easiest moves. What differentiates it from the Classic Cut Back is the flat mid move passage by pushing the water to set up the movement before projecting the Board back towards the shoulder violently, so without going any further towards the curl. We are very close to a Slash because the tail is slipping a little. But we are still not in Slash Back because the slightly slippery tail does not exceed the natural axis of movement of the Board. The axis of rotation remains the tail and not the center of the Board as it would be the case on a Slash Back. Once again, everything relies on the proper use of the Paddle. – Snap back front side : SUPer : Moritz Mauch on 6’10 Karmen FSP
