HOW TO : choisir son leash !!!

L’Ours returns to an important question: how to choose a leash? It should first be noted that the length given by the leash manufacturers do not take into account :
1) The length of the fastener. 2) The rail length saver, almost 30 cm (one foot !!!) 3) The advanced position of the plug on the board 4) Stretching the leash.
For all these reasons, I always use a leash which when attached to me allows me to set foot in Hang Ten without gene; this for boards round nose and sizes reasonable waves. For boards pointed nose, boards on which one does not move or whatever, I use less than a foot leash on paper to the length of the board for small waves and the size of the board for muscular waves.
I never use a long leash (except to tie me to the beach when it’s big). Why? Because even in two sizes or more face a long leash is such a drag on the train, it is really hard to surf with this long leash.
Reason 2: a long leash lost a crazy time when we want the board to pass a big bar that is very common.
A short leash is the assurance of taking the board in the face. It is only a matter of time unfortunately.
But it is also ten times faster.
