HOW TO : big board bottom turn !!!
On big boards and mini waves you don’t have a lot of time to express your surf. So you can choose to do a bottom turn from the middle of your board.
In fact, in small surf, you need to keep all the speed you can have so to surf in the top part of the wave.
The solution could be to do a bottom in the middle of your board but it is difficult. Generaly, beginners try to do it because they are not used to go to the tail to turn, but usually they fall down in the turn and the board goes straight… To avoid this problem, keep your body as vertical as you can and push on the rail inside the turn.
So do it with your ankles and keep your balance by using the paddle.
