Tomorrow, we are hosting the SurfEars team, who will be offering to check your level of exostosis!

What is exostosis? Also known as surfer’s ear, exostosis is a bone growth that forms in the external ear canal. Among surfers, it is often caused by repeated exposure to cold water and wind, which stimulates abnormal bone growth. This can lead to a narrowing of the ear canal, resulting in infections and hearing loss. This irreversible condition, which can only be treated through surgery, affects 70% of surfers to varying degrees, usually without them knowing.

The solution? Prevention, by wearing earplugs and occasionally having your ear canal checked—exactly what the SurfEars team will be offering tomorrow, October 10, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the GONG Space Center.
