Protect yourself from a cut that could keep you off the water thanks to our innovative line of Bodyguard outfits!

The short and long sleeved with a hood Bodyguard t-shirts, that we presented to you a few weeks ago, are now complemented by boardshorts for warm spots or to wear over your wetsuit. Developed using high-end technologies inherited from the world of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), the light and reassuring Bodyguard t-shirts and boardshorts are specially designed to give you enhanced protection against cuts during your foil sessions.

Also note the release of a yellow color for the GONG Bodyguard long-sleeved t-shirt with hood. A color that can be seen from a long distance to provide an additional element of security, essential for downwinders in particular.

Limiting the risks

We have always prioritized safety in our foils with non-sharp trailing edges, rounded or squared tips, and clear instructions. But at high speed or high intensity in a collision, or with a competition foil, cutting is inevitable.

Made from HPPE (High-Performance Polyethylene) fibers, the Bodyguard T-shirt and boardshorts offer level 5 cut resistance, the highest according to tests of the European standard EN 388. Applied to our sports, this advanced technology ensures you additional protection against cuts related to foils and fins.

Lightness and comfort

Designed for optimal freedom of movement, this protective clothing is surprisingly light and flexible. Their loose cuts adapt to your body, whether you wear them over a wetsuit or directly against the skin. We benefit from the double benefit of being protected, and of preserving your wetsuit.

Please note, our objective is not to eliminate cuts: that is illusory. Foil sports are extreme sports, particularly because of this risk. It is therefore important to be careful in all situations. An accident remains probable, so our objective is to reduce its consequences by eliminating “stupid” mistakes and reducing the intensity of serious cuts as explained in this video.
