FEEDBACK: VELOCE H

An addictive glide is the conclusion of Pascal after trying out his new Veloce H V3 foil.

“What foiling should have been all along”

“Got my v3 foils yesterday - such beauties! - and could ride them for a few hours today, so here's my lengthy first impression feedback on the Veloce V3 L and the Veloce HDW XL.

Mast: HM 85 V2 / HM 86 V2

Stabs: Veloce XL V3 / Fluid L V3

Board: Cruzader Diamond 6'0 100l, strapless

Bodyweight: 85 kg

Wing: Neutra Aramid X 5m

Fuselage: Titanium V2 Mast V3 Foil V3 Stab - fit is not bad with the V2 masts, a tiny bit of mast still peeking out (see image) but not noticeable on foil.

Wind: Bise, 6-18 knots, gusty

First I tried the Veloce L with the Fluid H v3 L stab (the Veloce L stab was backordered ;)) and I absolutely loved it! So this is what foiling should have been all along! Takeoff almost as easy as on my Curve H XL v3 1300cm2 but unlike the Curve H it's everything but boring - so much faster and free in the roll axis. I started to try tight carves, tips out, no ventilation and I started laughing out loud when I overfoiled in a toeside turn, breached and the foil was just sliding on the water then immediately regained lift - huge smile because usually I would fall if that happens!”

The glide of the Veloce H

“It feels super stable but at the same time free under your feet and the glide is just something else. It was almost impossible for me to glide through a 360 jibe with the Curve H XL V2, on the Ypra Surf XL V2 I made it maybe once but it was sketchy as I had to ride in with more than 40 km/h. With this Veloce L I was doing 360 jibes 😉 from heelside to heelside, from toeside to toeside 100% gliding, no backwinding, no touching down of the board on the water - like a young mountain goat - as we thend to say here - (see GPS image ;)) - it was EASY (keep in mind i started winging in September 2023 with an X-Over XL and have never done any windsport before) and SO MUCH FUN!!! pure happyness! It really glides like there is no tomorrow - at least on par if not more than an Axis 999V2 (which has similar specs on paper). Incredible upwind capability by the way - you can almost go straight upwind with the harness because there is so little resistance in the water you can keep speed at an incredible angle. An absolute dream!”

Veloce L with Veloce XL stab

“The setup is so stiff I could really feel every vibration for instance the turbulence when I crossed my own path after a 360 jibe and at top speed at around 42 km/h the vibration got stronger so I switched out the stab.

Veloce L V3 with Veloce XL V3 stab - this combo Ii liked even more! It felt a bit like taking the brakes off - even a tiny bit more glide and not so much vibration at top speed, pure freedom! I will probably order the V3 L stab when it's available as this will be perfectly balanced, with the XL I had to move feet a little forward - just a tiny bit.”

In conclusion

"(...) The Veloce H V3 size L is the absolute best foil I've ever winged - lift, glide, playfulness - it fits my practice of strapless freeriding on gusty inland swiss lakes perfectly. An absolute dream foil and super happy i had no self-control when ordering 😉 also happy I got the Veloce because this glide is absolutely addictive! (...)”
