A light, stiff and perfectly balanced wing.
“Wing received yesterday, a Neutra Aramid X 5.5 replacing a 2024 Droid 5.5 with boom.
Before heading out on the water, I wanted to do a quick test in what was supposed to be steady wind. Forecast was around 20 knots at Les Blancs Sablons… well, let’s say they were nowhere to be found!
First point: super light in this configuration and very stiff. The boom is slimmer but still rigid, no doubt about it.
Second point: in freefly, it’s ultra-balanced on the handle, truly neutral! The leading-edge struts are thinner and stiffer, and you really feel it when passing it overhead. Feather-light.
Third point: once powered up and locked into the wind, it’s powerful and stable, that’s obvious! It pulls nicely, and if there’s too much power, it neutralizes effortlessly overhead without getting in the way.
No flapping, no need to even mention it. The whole setup breathes quality craftsmanship.
Where the Droid felt bulky during tacks, this one goes through naturally, with the arm well above the head. Absolute weapon.
Already can’t wait to get back on the water tomorrow to test the Cruzader Diamond… because this morning it was more like 8–15 knots in gusts, plus wet sand sticking to the wheels, nothing was moving!
