John shares his thoughts on adapting the high performance Neutra Aramid X wing.

Pumping technique with the Neutra Aramid X
“Thoughts on Neutra UPE Aramid X 4m... Yesterday was the second time using my new wing (bought to replace a 4m of a well known brand).
First time out was in winds between 15 to 19kn, so quite low for a 4m, but wanted to try it out! I enjoyed it, very stable when on foil, but I was worried about what felt like a 'twitchy' low power feel when trying to pump onto foil? Read some information on this forum, about the hand position when pumping the Neutra wings, especially the smaller sizes.
Second time out yesterday in gusty winds from 5kn to 24kn. Moved my back hand further forward on the boom, quick pumps from the front of the wing, allowing the wing to 'find it's own position', very little pull from back hand.....voila! Up and foiling.”
Pro team quality
“Super impressed with it's upwind ability, it's light feeling, 'flagging' from the pistol grip boom is really useful. Tacks are easier as the wing seems to have very little drag.
Love it!
Now to get a 5m, but a Droid, as the Droid will be my biggest wing (weight = 73kg).”
