First ever session with a double profile kite for Eric who shares his first impressions on the Elips Aramid DP.
Kitesurfer: Francesco, GONG team rider, with the Elips Aramid DP, Catch FSP 2X and FeelX kite bar.
A session with the Elips Aramid DP
“Thanks to Jules for letting me have the new double profile Elips that I was able to test on the last windy day we had a week ago. Conditions: 20 knots and above. Side-onshore. Small waves with a few hollow sections you could hit for rollers. The kitesurfer, 75kg, strapless shortboard. Elips 7m.
Honestly, the kite already made a good impression on me on the beach ;) The Aramid material inspires high quality. It's rigid. The colors look really good in daylight (blue in my case). The first new feature is that you have to pass your hand through a Velcro flap to secure the pump tip under the double skin. Then quickly inflated, it’s a 7… Factory setting for the bridle and rear lines (middle).”
The double profile
“Personally, I have never seen a double profile on a kite before. So I was pretty doubtful because if it were to work, everyone would have one in its range ;) Well, after testing it I think we'll see more of them very quickly! As I have already read in other reviews, it is the speed in the window that is the most remarkable. I would say it starts to turn pretty much like any other classic wave kite, but it quickly picks up speed. It therefore becomes turbo reactive as soon as it is moving. For surfing it’s really very pleasant. You can place it easily anywhere in the window. Very easy to control.
I could have sailed with less surface I think but the control in the gusts was very good. The kite is really stable. The double profile had no weird reactions. It really is like a normal kite, just with crazy speed. I had a blast in this session, it drifts very well and the depower is precise and progressive. It was a very good surprise I must say. And thank you again for the opportunity to test this kite. This test will probably impact my quiver shortly ;)”.

Estaría bien poderlas probar, porque es algo nuevo, y es necesario probarlas antes de comprar, pero no se donde se puede provare en la zona sur de España
