Francesco shares his impressions after his first session with his new quiver made of the Droid and Neutra UPE Aramid.

Conditions of the test
“I had a first test with the 5m Neutra and 4m Droid in UPE Aramid in choppy conditions with tiny waves, 10-14 knots of wind. I weigh 68 kg and was riding the Curve M-H, L-H, the stabs Fluid H 42 and Sirus L.”
New carrying bag
“First good surprise is the new carrying bag, it’s very comfortable, easier to keep the wing rolled up and you don’t have to disassemble the boom.”
Inflation, lightness and stiffness
“Inflated fast at 7 psi and was stiff enough. Mind blowing weight!! Not to mention waterproof fabric, maximum stiffness and upgraded freefly handle. Just after inflating the wing I was surprised by its featherweight and stiffness. This promised to be very comfortable for both lightwind and maneuvers.”
New carrying bag
“So a couple of pumping strokes and I was on the water. It felt super maneuverable thanks to the weight and boom. I first got out with the Neutra 5m in 12 knots and had an instant take-of, very comfortable and soft wing. Nothing to tire you though I do not use the harness, absolute neutrality and great pleasure.”
The compactness of the Droid
“Then the wind rose so I changed to the Droid 4 m. With one meter less the weight and wingspan are on an even better level. Instant take-off and 2 hours of absolute pleasure. You can have a go at all the maneuvers easily and when you let go of the boom in freefly it feels like you’re not carrying anything.
I have to mention I have Neutra and Droid Perf 2024, with rigid handles and boom and the improvement is noticeable. It’s a pleasant surprise on all levels. We will keep testing in other conditions and reporting (waves will arrive at the end of the week).”
Team Series wings in their lighter, stiffer and more dynamic UPE Aramid construction are available on demand for the most demanding wing foilers until March 29, 2024.
