FEEDBACK : 4'8 LEMON FSP PRO !!!

After starting with a 6’3 Zuma, Raphaël fell in love with the 4’8 Lemon FSP PRO. And reading his feedback, the transition went perfectly: “Good morning. While it’s still pretty fresh in my memory… here’s my feeling about the 4’8″ Lemon. 1,80 m 68 kg almost 50 years old, Windsurfer, Kitefoiler, experienced SUPfoiler, and Wingfoiler addict! First of all the visuals, I find the finish top of the range, the semi-pro look is killer, and 4,8 kg, much less than announced on the initial sheet. I find that the constructions have made a leap forward recently (2019), Full PVC Carbon Sandwich at this price this year, bravo! I learned on a Zuma 6’3″ 2019 (95 l), very quickly became too bulky, once the rudiments acquired, no benefit to continue on this size. So I was looking for a minimalist Board, but without falling into the extreme side of negative volume Boards, more canvas and often not enough depth in the waves so the Board can bottom out. The 70 l of the Lemon 4’8” suits me perfectly. The Board floats well, the adaptation was almost immediate. On my knees the very comfortable width stabilizes the roll well, but you have to be well concentrated on the longitudinal axis, the front is thin, no room for placement. You have to get up quickly. The Board being very short, the takeoff has to be dynamic and within a few meters. The Board takes little speed flat, like a shortSUP. In normal range, pumping is imperative. However, thanks to the compactness, weight and stiffness, the Board is super reactive so pumping is very efficient, it “jumps” forward and takes off quickly. In flight it’s ideal, again super reactive, close to the feeling of a Kitefoil Board, and everything seems easier, there’s no more inertia of the Zuma. The wind was not enough to continue flying with a Wing, I could even test with a Kite (keeping the same Foil), it works great, ultra easy to work on transitions! From now on I will always bring a Kite as a backup for my Wing sessions. In short, I am convinced by this Board, I found everything I expected, performance and accessibility. Be careful though, it’s not a beginners Board, but a sporty intermediate should quickly find his marks with it I think, by choosing the right volume. Thank you, Gong!” Wing Foiler : Raphaël and his GONG SUP 4’8 Lemon FSP PRO.
