Frontside 720

While you’re at a FS360, put your height to good use by going for an extra 360! 😉 We explain how to double-down in this How To Frontside 720.

Wing foiler : Malo, GONG team rider, with the HIPE Pro, Neutra RH, HM 85 mast, Ypra M-S and Fluid H Pro 42.

Take a maximum of speed and choose a small wave or kicker to take off. The key to success for this move is the height so go for it. The pop must be perfect: sink the foil before taking off avoiding any touchdown and rise back up while sheeting in. To go high you need wind but do not overpower, especially at the beginning. A small wing will help you maintain control and accelerate the rotations.

Launch your first FS360 as you approach the zenith of your jump. First turn the board around with a tail kick then look over the shoulder and make the wing follow. The first FS360 is underway. When the wing is over your head again, with the leading edge facing into the wind, sight your landing point over your shoulder to launch the second FS360. While for your first FS360, getting the wing through the wind is done almost like for a simple FS360, the next one is done with a more horizontal wing. Meaning you’re a little more suspended to the wing on your way down.

The last 90° to reach 720 are normally done on the water. We therefore generally find ourselves downwind on landing. So remember to raise the wing with the front hand so as not to be ripped off. Stay compact when landing on the water so as not to lose your balance.
