Carrying your gear

In surfing, nothing is easier than carrying a short board.

But make note that it’s quite simple to ding it or hit a Fin. So even if there are many ways of holding it, it is safer to carry the board under the arm with the Fins in front of you.

 

For obvious reasons of the Boards form, it will be easier to carry a board with the deck facing you. The shape of the rail feels much better in your hand. And the wax will stick to the body which helps with heavier boards.

 

The big longboards are carried on the shoulder or by the arm and towards the back third. And here, it is crucial to put the Fins forward and the hull towards you.

  On the head it’s do-able but watch out for gusts and the cervical.   The top is a good Board Bag that you can balance perfectly and have more control of.
