For any session of more than an hour, using a harness is a welcome relief when you are not a pro or a fitness champion. And generally speaking, it will soon be a habit for all wingfoilers to protect their body, especially their back.

A good harness line completely changes your sessions: you save your energy for the intense phases: jumps, surfs, maneuvers; and save yourself during the transition phases: sailing back to the peak, sailing upwind, long tacks.

Saving your energy during the session also allows you to recover more quickly from your efforts for the up-coming sessions of the week or the weekend! What is the point of riding full on for 1 hour when you can do 3 hours every day for the same effort?

Beyond these rapidly palpable advantages, at GONG we have a history in wing foiling which allows us to have a glimpse at the trauma associated with this activity. If at first the effort without a harness is very good for your body, overdoing it is dramatic: tendonitis, various types of wear, general fatigue, etc.

We placed the harness line at specific points on our wings. Indeed, the rear attachment placed too far back would suffocate your wing. The harness line is therefore more advanced than simply placed between your two hands. So your wing keeps all its power, does not go under the board, and remains very manoeuvrable.

What harness?

Simply any easy-to-unhook windsurfing hook will do the trick, placed on a harness or on a simple strap for those who don’t want to feel squeezed. Everyone will appreciate the degree of comfort / constraint they want.

How not to damage the board?

Is it better to risk a shock once or twice a year or to wear your back so much that you can’t ride anymore? Frankly, the question is quickly answered. A harness hook will do no more harm to a wing board than to a windsurf board, especially since at GONG the constructions are identical (PVC sandwich). And if you’re afraid of doing damage, put on a small neoprene sock with a finger of an old glove, or a few wraps of tape around the hook.

This product has undergone numerous tests to be both simple and optimized.

The key points of its design

  • Perfect ratio between thinness and solidity, a thick line would be heavy and therefore dangerous during tricks. Our solution is lightweight and thin in diameter, but made of dyneema for durability.
  • Rigid to facilitate hooking in / unhooking, but not too stiff to leave room for maneuverability. The use of a PU sheath and thin diameters allowed us to keep flexibility.
  • No entanglement allowed with the leashes (mainly the wing). A sheathed line does not twist in the wing leash.
  • Easy and quick to set up, without knots or rigid parts.

With rigid handles wings your body will be further away from the attachment point of the harness line, so you will need longer line to get the same adjustment as on soft handles wings.

Construction

These harness lines consist of a very strong PU sheath and an almost unbreakable dyneema core.

As for the fixation points at the ends of the harness line, we have miniaturized the same hook and loop system used for the rail saver of a surf leash, adding an integrated line to avoid twists and the loss of this element.

This system is covered by a neoprene sheath for a perfect finish and to protect your pad from scratches.

  • We sell simply without an intermediary thanks to the internet: direct from Shaper to Surfer at the LOWEST price.
  • If we sold this board in a surfshop, it would cost 35€ (taking into account traditional margins that we should offer to distributers and stores).

 

Shipping

Availability:

The dates of availability of all our products are written on each product page, in the size and colour of the product concerned.

These dates are valid at the moment you consult the site and/or place an order. It is possible that this product may be ordered a few seconds after your consultation. It then becomes unavailable. If you have placed an order, this change does not concern you: the product you order is still available on the date indicated at the time of your order.

We sell several thousand products per week. The stocks are therefore very evolutionary. But our management always shows you the real availability live.

Pre-order:

Some articles are proposed in pre-order during their routing to our premises. You can buy this article which will arrive at our place in a few weeks. This method avoids the fair to grab upon receipt of the lot and the disappointed ones who would not order within the hour.

Upon receipt, we will ship it to you as a regular order.

The times indicated on the pre-orders are 95% reliable. First of all, because we only pre-sell finished products that are arriving to us after Customs, and therefore shipped right after. And also, because we add decent margins with concern to the dates announced by the shipping companies or railways.

However, a Worker Strike, a breakdown, an overbooking, can unfortunately happen. In the case of a delay, you will be notified by email (check your spam). It is generally less than a week and totally independent of our good will.

As soon as we receive the container in La Baule, we ship your order within three working days. Then the carrier takes over: delivery time and tracking numbers are under their responsibility.

It is possible that the date displayed on the online for the pre-order of the item you have ordered and paid for may change for two reasons:

  • All quantities of the batch are sold (most common reason). In this case, orders placed for the first container will be delivered as scheduled.
  • The container is late and we have to shift the date by a few days. (Strikes, breakdowns, overbooking, can unfortunately happen). You will be notified by email.

We never change the delivery dates of a container without notifying customers.

 

Delays:

The dates that we announce are shipping deadlines, which GONG has in stock and available here physically.

We usually give a shipping time within 3 days, but in most cases, we ship within 24/48 hours. Normally morning orders leave in the afternoon for example.

Then the transport service takes over. The variables are then important between the customer being delivered to France (very fast) or Bulgaria (a good week) or to a forwarding agent or to Asia or the USA… You understand that each location has its own type of delay.

We work with serious and well-known carriers. They do their utmost to make you happy even if a snafu can happen. In any case, we are there to make things easier and to arrange our customers.

 

Shipping Fees: 

Contrary to others, we do not hide shipping costs in the price of our products. At GONG everyone knows exactly what he pays. The transport is charged at its strictest value, and the person who comes to pick up his products does not pay hidden transport fees.

Shipping costs are calculated according to the weight and volume of each package, and your delivery address. To this is added a labour time of order preparation.

The invoicing of the shipping costs is identical in continental France and in the bordering European countries. A surcharge is automatically invoiced for deliveries to the most distant European countries and all European islands.

For a shipment in French overseas departments and territories or outside Europe, our logistics department will contact you before the payment stage to give you an estimate of the shipping costs. You will be able to accept this estimate and pay your order, or refuse it and cancel your order.

Tracking of your parcels :

The tracking of deliveries is directly ensured by the carriers to whom we have entrusted your parcels. They will contact you by email or SMS to allow you to choose the delivery methods and to follow the route of your package.

If you ask us for this tracking, we will have to do as you do: we will go see on the carrier’s app because they are the ones who manage and are responsible for this job.

 

Delivery:

We collaborate with the best transport providers to deliver you everywhere in Europe and in the world in very short delays.

We have chosen them for their quality of service and their respect of deadlines. 80% of your orders reach their destination in less than 48 hours of processing in metropolitan and continental France.

For Europe, the delays vary from 3 to 6 days depending on the country of destination.

For the rest of the world, delays can be up to 15 days.

Please note that the transport time is added to the preparation/shipping time. Two companies work on your order (GONG and the carrier). Each one controls its activity and commits itself to optimize its delays so that you are delivered as soon as possible, in good condition and at a reasonable price.

    Juste top! je fais 1.78m et j’ai utilisé le xl sur une plus en 4m2. J’étais en plage haute de l’aile et avec un harnais ceinture de windsurf. C’était parfait. Le bout ne gène jamais et sur un crochet inox il s’accroche et se décroche très facilement (rigide juste ce qu’il faut) et coulisse bien sur l’inox. Je vais commander deux autres pour mes autres ailes 🙂

    I’ve tried several designs on the market and GONG’s is the cleanest/best solution I have seen. Simple, adaptable but secure connection to lines, pigtails or direct to handles. Low weight and low profile keep the lines out of the way until needed but just stiff enough to swing to hook in one movement. Granted, no adjustment possible but for the price you can try several lengths to find the right one. Well done GONG keeping it simple.

    Le confort apporté en nav est conséquent … Tenir à bout de bras un engin assé puissant pour propulser 3H mes 98kg n’a aucun sens quand on peut se reposer avec une ceinture ou un harnais… Et le confort et la précision que cela apporte pour caper est un vrai plus!
    Comme toi j’ai un crochet coulissant, donc pas de dégâts sur mon pad ou mes rails de planche…

    Très septique au départ, et je ne fais plus jamais sans à présent…le crochet de harnais est pour moi une évidence avec beaucoup d’avantages et très peu d’inconvénients…
    J’ai essayé pas mal de truc, mais finalement, je garde ma ceinture wip avec son crochet solide et coulissant.
    Mes leashs sont accrochés dans mon dos et top pour les transitions avec la wing et mon leash surf 6′ fin.
    La durée de mes sessions est plus longue, je cape fort s’il faut, je me repose les bras , j’arrive au pic en pleine forme pour surfer la vague, que du bon….
    Je ne vois pas d’inconvénient mis à part la mise à l’eau…et encore, avec le crochet coulissant, tu le mets sur le côté le temps de la mise à l’eau pour pouvoir monter sur la planche sans l’abîmer et hop le tour est joué !
    Vous remarquerez également que la neutra 6m est très stable dans ce vent asthmatique de 12 nds , tenue par une main et de l’autre poignée par le harnais ..
    Mon sus épineux gauche me remercie, et ma récupération est meilleurs après de longues sessions !
    Le boot de harnais gong est topissime et on aurait tord de s’en priver ?

    J’ai essayé les bouts de harnais gong après avoir essayé d’autres produits et en suis totalement satisfait.
    La finition du produit est bonne, ils sont à la fois rigides, fins et prennent une forme idéale une fois installés contrairement à certains autres bouts qui peuvent conserver une mémoire de forme leur donnant une forme vrillée une fois installés.
    Seule différence, l’absence de réglage de la longueur qui ne m’a pas dérangé car j’ai trouvé les conseils de choix de taille de la page produit adaptés une fois sur l’eau.
    Un très bon bout de harnais!

    j’avais suivi les conseils des experts qui déconseillent le harnais pour apprendre la wing et c’est justifié. Ayant bien progressé après 6 mois de pratique (et une tendinite à un coude), j’ai acheté et fixé ces nouveaux bouts de taille M sur ma nouvelle plus V2 en 5m et me suis trouvé un harnais de kite d’occasion et ça a été une révélation (avec un passé de windsurfer habitué au harnais) : l’aile se place naturellement même dans les surventes, au début je me méfiais et je me décrochais mais en réalité l’aile encaisse toute seule la rafale quand on est au harnais, c’est du pur pilotage du bout des doigts, avec l’aide des genoux et du bassin : le kiff !

    Comme la plupart de ceux qui naviguent au harnais, j’ai commencé avec des bouts fait maison en dynema 5mm. C’est bien mais a la fâcheuse tendance à s’enrouleur autour du leash téléphone au pumping, ce qui est assez ch… 🙄
    Donc quand j’ai vu les bouts de harnais Gong, j’ai pas hésité longtemps 😀 .

    Ce week-end j’ai pu les tester sur ma 5m et 4m Neutra V2.
    Franchement, au top, ils restent bien en place, plus de problème au pumping et leur rigidité rend l’accrochage et le décrochage facile.
    Bien faire attention au montage qu’ils prennent la forme adéquate (et retourner si besoin le côté de l’accrochage).

    La fixation se fait comme un leash de planche, et avec la protection en plus par dessus : rien à dire.

    Donc au final un petit accessoire tout simple mais tellement pratique.
    J’ai pris le L pour la 5m et le M pour la 4m et les longueurs me conviennent.
