Discover the GONG Bodyguard T-shirt: an innovative t-shirt, specially designed to provide you with enhanced protection against cuts during your foil sessions.

Faced with the various risks of cuts on the stabilizer, the front wing, and the mast, it seemed necessary to propose a new solution.

We have always prioritized safety in our foils, using non-sharp trailing edges, round or square tips, and clear instructions. However, at high speeds or during impacts, or with a competition foil, cuts are inevitable.

We have therefore developed the Bodyguard range of technical textile products, incorporating high-end technologies inherited from the world of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Made from HPPE (High Performance Polyethylene) fibers, the Bodyguard T-shirt offers certified cut resistance level D according to the European standard EN 388. Applied to our sports, this cutting-edge technology provides extra protection against cuts from foils and daggerboards. With its long sleeves and hood, this garment offers extensive protection, notably by covering the neck, a particularly vulnerable area, against cuts and sunburn.

Our goal isn't to eliminate cuts: that's unrealistic. Foil sports are extreme sports, particularly because of this risk. Therefore, caution is essential in all situations. But accidents are still possible. Our aim is to reduce their consequences by eliminating minor, everyday cuts and minimizing the severity of serious injuries.

We've created cut-resistant T-shirts specifically designed to protect vital organs. Falling on the foil is an intensely stressful experience. And while limbs are easily injured, the torso remains the top priority for protection.

These T-shirts will reduce the potential for cuts, allowing you to escape unharmed from a minor impact and mitigating the consequences of a major one. Your safety is our priority, and enabling you to limit damage and reach the shore and rescue services is essential. This range of protective gear doesn't eliminate the risk of injury, but it will reduce its impact in most accidents.

Designed for optimal freedom of movement, it's surprisingly lightweight and flexible. Its loose fit adapts to your body shape, whether you wear it over a wetsuit or directly against your skin. It therefore offers the dual benefit of protecting both you and your wetsuit.

Available in five sizes, it has a relaxed fit to accommodate your wetsuit. If you prefer a more fitted look, choose a size down.

Attention

The risk of serious injury cannot be completely eliminated. The Bodyguard T-shirt is designed to reduce the risk of cuts and their consequences, but it cannot protect against all injuries. For example, it cannot protect against the force of an impact. In the water, skin softens and tears easily upon impact. In such cases, the T-shirt will be ineffective. Your caution is the most effective barrier against danger. Limiting cuts does not protect against punctures or extremely sharp objects. Be careful not to use very sharp or pointed foils. Blunt them if necessary by sanding the cutting edge into a round or square shape. We also strongly recommend combining the wearing of a Bodyguard product with a thick wetsuit, booties, an impact vest, and above all, a helmet!
