FEEDBACK: FRONT WING ALLVATOR VELOCE XL !!!

François, GONG Ambassador, shares with us his feedback on his Front Wing Veloce XL after several sessions:

“Report XL Veloce après quelques sessions.

I always surfed in conditions where I usually use my L PRO, i.e. minimum 50cm, semi hollow waves not very surfable on a Log or big fish.

I like it…this XL Veloce but I didn’t find myself at my best with it to do big curves like I like…lack of space on the wave and limit too much power in fact… This weekend, I tried a spot at the end of the swell about hip size at the takeoff but very quickly, becomes a fully on wave, tubular and  unsurfable even with a big sup…. And there. … I finally discovered the potential of my XL Veloce. Quite amazing even. The speed is amazing, the ultra flat sections are under the eyebrow… I was able to do a series of 8 curves like I never could have done in such conditions in L PRO I never had to pump, the speed was constant and so I could make my way where I wanted. … as long as there was this famous tube. … Magic I tell you.

A few hundred meters later, I exited the wave to pump back out  again towards a new wave 100m higher, a disconcerting ease, but be careful. …As long as you don’t make a mistake, because the slightest touchdown, the speed is slowed down and either you pick it back up directly or you don’t manage to cheat by re-launching the beast.

A situation that I could manage when turning for example. In any case, I found the fatal weapon for the conditions that you cannot even imagine to hold without pumping. There, it’s flight is assured and return to the peak without paddling for the one who thinks about it 😉

PS : I’m was on a 40cm Surf Stab, I’m thinking about a  Veloce 43cm…??? Enlightened opinions??
