NEWS: THE NEW YPRA FRONT WINGS OF THE PRO TEAM!

Set up a quiver of Pro front wings with the new Ypra Surf and Ypra Surf-Freestyle of our Pro riders!

To meet the specific needs of our team riders on the World Tour in the Wave and Surf-Freestyle disciplines, new editions of the Ypra-S have been developed. Two variations that we make accessible to all fans of radical turns and tricks with:

• The Ypra Surf
• The Ypra Surf-Freestyle

Starting from the shape of the versatile Ypra-S, which is a reference for its sensational glide and its control in committed maneuvers, our team riders worked with our R&D office to refine its characteristics for even more efficiency in Wave and Surf-Freestyle contests.

New shapes validated by the team

The team got hold of these shapes during the year and the results on the World Tour tell it all. Malo surfed the Ypra Surf to victory at the Wave event in Saquarema in Brazil and with the Ypra Surf-Freestyle, he won the only two events of the 2023 Surf-Freestyle tour where the scores were based on freestyle and surfing, namely Denmark and again Brazil, this time in Cauipe. Like Team Series wings, HM masts and FSP Pro boards, all of the pieces of equipment used by the Pro team in competition are production models or soon to be. These two editions of the Ypra are no exception and are 100% consistent with the models used by the Pro team. This is our commitment to allow you to evolve on equipment capable of the highest performances.

 

New shapes

 

• Ypra Surf

On the Ypra Surf, the aspect ratio has been slightly reduced compared to the Ypra-S to be more radical in the waves. Rail to rail is more lively and fluid at the same time. Low speed tolerance is also reinforced. Compared to the Ypra-S, the chord is more important in the center for an equivalent wingspan. This further recenters the surface under the rider’s feet to favor pivot. The rail to rail is boosted, the radius of curvature in turns is ultra short. The very fast but slightly more generous profile provides the necessary roundness for a full-on surf program. The speed range is much larger, which allows you to achieve all types of carves and moves. The balance between wingspan, chord length and thickness maximizes maneuverability to focus solely on each surf move. The gain in tolerance greatly boosts its take-off, pop and re-pop qualities. The Ypra Surf offers a lot of lift, while maintaining an incredible top speed.  

• Ypra Surf-Freestyle

The shape of the Ypra Surf-Freestyle is identical to that of the Ypra Surf which allows radicality in turns with a tolerance that allows you to link maneuvers together and enjoy an excellent repop. This Ypra Surf-Freestyle differentiates itself with a front wing fitting that’s 5cm shorter. This reduced front to rear span increases pitch responsiveness for a huge pop and re-pop. Combined with a Freestyle 35 or 37 stab, you obtain record pop and an extremely radical turn radius. With this short fitting, the mast is set further forward on the lower of the foil. This is much like moving a fin forward on a board. It makes for a gain in maneuverability and more freedom to perform radical maneuvers.

 

New Pro fuselage

To accommodate the short fitting of the Ypra Surf-Freestyle, a new Titanium Pro fuselage has been specially developed in short size. Its use is required to foil with a Ypra Surf-Freestyle.
