What is an allround wing?

An allround wing is first of all, a very versatile wing, allowing you to push performance across a wide range of practices. Whether in freeride, wave riding, freestyle, light wind or freerace, this type of wing allows you to have heaps of fun in the program of more specialized wings. In our range, this is the Plus which, thanks to its ease of handling and its performance, allows everyone to have fun in the conditions of the day which inevitably dictate the program.

Who is it for?

Progression and fun is the program you sign up for when you choose an allround wing. The target group for such a program is pretty much every rider as we all need to experience fun sessions to progress, and inversely, our progress also feeds the fun 😉. An allround wing is therefore perfect for a beginner who aims to discover the incredible sensations of wing foiling as well as for an experienced rider who will appreciate the comfort and ease of a wing that will perfectly support his ambitions on the water.

What are the advantages of an allround wing?

Lightness is a guarantee of ease and comfort in most practices. This is therefore a priority, as well as the ease of handling of an allround wing. Handling has to be easy to ensure progress, limit falls and save energy. A good allround wing allows you to ride for a long time without getting tired, and thus to progress quickly.

A quality allround wing also offers excellent take off performance, allowing you to expand your low end and fly in a wide range of conditions. The wing must be powerful at low speed and soft in gusts, thanks to a shape that accepts overpowered conditions.

Your wing allround needs to be solid enough to absorb the inevitable approximations that occur as a wingfoiler in progress.

Which handles for an allround program in wing foiling?

Simplicity, comfort or performance, each type of handle has its own advantages, and these are all available to you thanks to our modular system on allround wings. On the new Plus, just a few turns with your screw tool allows you to switch from one handle system to another. All options are available:

textile handles;
rigid handles;
boom.

The latest evolution of the Plus comes by default with textile handles, as these are the lightest and easiest to grip, but you’re free to choose rigid handles or an optional boom to suit your program and your desires. For instance, you can use rigid handles for freestyle, boom for freerace and textile handles for waves.

Window or Full Canopy?

Wings with windows are safer, as they significantly increase your downwind field of vision. For beginners, a wing with windows is a must, because safety comes first. A window allows you to anticipate the risk of collision on the water. Just as a driver has to be aware of his vehicle’s blind spots, a wing foiler without windows has to deal with reduced visibility. In both cases, experience and reactivity are required. So we don’t recommend wings without windows for beginners. Regardless of your level, you should always check your trajectory, especially in maneuvers and tricks.
