FEEDBACK: LETHAL FSP PRO !!!

The Lethal FSP PRO is THE Wing board dedicated to waveriding without concessions. That doesn’t mean this is a board for a handful of gifted people.

Pierre-Marie tells us about his first experience with this uncompromising shape.

“Hello, a little feedback on the Lethal FSP PRO 5’1 collected on Friday and tested on Saturday, perfect timing.

Before ordering this famous Lethal FSP PRO, I had a Lemon 5’0 in 100 L and I was impatiently awaiting the 2021 models to change board and continue my progress. But between the Mint, the Kube, the new Lemon, the Lethal … the choice was difficult.

Lethal 5.1, the desire for radicalism

The desire for radicalism was there but I did not want to have 2 boards, one for the lightwind and a less chubby one for bigger conditions. In the end I clicked on the Lethal 5.1 thinking that 5 liters less shouldn’t be a problem. While waiting for the delivery. I was following the discussions on FB and the forum. I told myself that the board was really not wide and that I would regret my choice in messy conditions or when the wind drops. Well, the choice was done, just wait and see.

Thirty knots and messy conditions

Saturday, a good thirty knots was blowing on a choppy playing field. I went on the water with the Neutra 4m. I kneeled on the board (I thought, “it does not sink, yes!”). I catched the wing and surprise, it took off directly. I even had the impression that things were going better than on the Lemon. By the time I finished my first rack, I found the right position for the feet. I attacked the first jibe, fingers in the nose, first change of feet, still without a problem. Just a few touchdowns. After a quarter of an hour, I get a real feel for the board. I feel like I have more control from having the front foot more centered. On the other hand, I may have to review my foil setting that I had put on like on the Lemon and here I really need to have more support on the back foot. After 2 hours of pure sensations I really do not regret my choice, a better glide at the start, a big tolerance with the touchdowns and good sensations in the surfs and the transitions. Just great! I need to test it in  the 12/15 knots range with the Pulse 5m. Thank you to the GONG team for this 2021 gear which will surely help me a lot in my progress.”
