Hannes has tested many inflatable boards and wonders why he would still use a rigid one when they inflatables have so much going for them.

The perks of Inflatable wing boards
“All HIPE or what? I've been a HIPE fan since the HIPE Pro ‘22. I've had a few and still have a hardboard (Lethal 5’6 ‘24, will be sold now, see below). Despite that, I only ride HIPE now.
Reasons for HIPE:
No 1: Super comfort, especially when starting on your knees (good for old knees!), very good gliding, best performance, not very susceptible to damage, great for traveling, very good price/performance ratio.
Rider: 90+ kg, 178 cm, 59 years old, very experienced in winging, mainly 8-12 knots on the lake, but sometimes up to 40 knots and waves.”
2024 HIPE Cruzader 6’6 112l
“It looks the smallest, feels that way too (despite 6’6 and 112l!!!) and is the sportiest board in terms of balance. It particularly likes to glide lightly through the water, racing and making tight turns. When starting, I appreciate the nose, which always points upwards (very strong bend, nose rocker). The board for super light winds or stronger conditions with no/little chop but definitely also in a clean wave.”
2024 HIPE Diamond 5’10 105l
“Starts very early, but not noticeably better than the Perf, races well, has good balance and enables tight turns. Feels much smaller than 5’10. The nose tends to dive when pumping.”
2024 HIPE Perf 5’3 100l
“Nominally the smallest board but the one with the best balance, very good glide (similar to Diamond) but of course not as good as Cruzader! This is my board for windy and wavy conditions because of the outstanding comfort. Fast, energy-saving starts are possible! For tight turns and in waves, the Rake Shim is very helpful to avoid rail contact!
All 3 are very good "starters" and are almost as good as a hardboard (Lethal 5’6 2024).
I can't say anything about jumps etc. as I don't really do that much.
And now? Off to Cornwall with the HIPE Perf.”
