FEEDBACK: ALUMINIUM MAST ALLVATOR V2 85CM

In foiling your mast has a huge influence on your navigation. Its dynamism, its profile, its rigidity and its weight play an important role as Bruno noticed when trying his new 85cm alu Allvator V2 mast.

“I received my V2 85 mast very recently. I will finally be able to move up a gear with my new mast. And when I say moving up a gear, it is the feeling that emerges, but since I have no means of measurement, we will stick to the feeling.

With my HIPE 5’3, 73 kg, Curve LT and stab Veloce 43, the difference, in fact, the differences are obvious compared to my V1 90 cm. Until now I had never felt that this good V1 mast was too flexible, as often described, until I did sessions in a big swell (2-3m). In the passes the currents were so strong and swirling that either my foil was diving or it was wriggling in all directions.

Stability

Today the wind was light, 12-15 knots, swell within 2 meters. First, small disappointment, indeed the pumping was much more difficult than with the V1, is it due to the greater thickness?

Then, once in the air, great !!! The rigidity is felt immediately, feeling of speed, but above all the stability, much less disturbance in the passes, the jibes of a disconcerting ease, the surf ditto, in short frankly there I understand that the V1 is more (too?) flexible .

In conclusion, the V2 is much easier to use, responds to the finger and the eye, is remarkably stable, even when bearing off. Thank you R&D for this new toy, I miss the Fluid L which arrives in 15 days if all goes well to further improve, I hope, my sessions in terms of fun.”
