We are constantly working on Shapes, which are always more efficient, and we are constantly working on technology and the industrial processes. All these innovations come to life within GONG Factory France. One of the latest technological innovations to date is the one called FSP 2X. The goal was clear, to have a lighter Board while maintaining excellent strength. To do this, it was necessary to rethink the process, from the first lamination to the finishing touches. Here are some details of the process developed at the GONG Factory on the Shape of this Zuma Prototype for use in SUPFoil and WingFoil : The Shape : First of all, you have to bring a Shape to life. To do this, the Shaper has various tools at his disposal to give the desired shape, deck, hull and rails, and to distribute the desired volume. Then comes the stratification stage. To gain in strength, the lamination is identical on the top and bottom of the Board. This process limits the risk of breakage. Then, a layer of Biaxial Fiber is added to the PVC Sandwich and the two layers of Fiber Glass, limiting dents and ensuring greater impact resistance. The whole thing is then compressed with vacuum pressure. We apply integrated tinted resin to the Fiber and it acts as a filler in the velds of the tissue, which is then sanded to smooth it all out.   Then, a hot coat is applied to the finish.
