Foil Front Wing Rise V1

Program
Foil wings dedicated to progression.
Presentation
These wings are perfect for getting started in foiling.
Generous but not excessive, they fly at very low speed, which is reassuring and allows you to complete maneuvers without getting scared. No need for overspeed to enjoy the Rise, you fly cool and feel comfortable very quickly.
The low ratio naturally reduces speed and increases tolerance. It's ideal for feeling safe. The foil doesn't go off at 25 knots as soon as you step on it, catapulting you into an uncontrollable fall. On the contrary, the Rise is smooth and simple. Be careful, it's fast enough for a beginner because it will naturally go much faster than a surfboard! It's not a turtle ;-) It's simply adapted to the needs of a beginner who will regularly flirt with very low speeds following mistakes. And there the Rise will be a lifesaver.
A wing that is extremely safe in flight, but also in handling, so that your beginnings are really simple.
Understanding each wing in detail:
The M has a wingspan of 70 cm with a projected area of 1258 cm2 (1459 cm2 developed), and a volume of 2.0 L. The surface area is large with a very forgiving profile of 3.0 cm thickness.
- In surf foil, it is a small wing for light builds.
- In wing, it is a small wing for light builds.
- In kite foiling, it is a very versatile wing which carries even at very low speed.
The L has a wingspan of 80 cm with a (projected) surface area of 1643 cm2 (1926 cm2 developed), and a volume of 3.12 L. The surface area is large with a very tolerant profile of 3.5 cm thickness.
- In surf foil, it is an average wing for those under 75kg.
- In wing, it is an average wing for those under 75kg.
The XL has a wingspan of 90 cm with a projected area of 1844 cm2 (2137 cm2 developed), and a volume of 3.60 L. The surface area is large with a very forgiving profile of 3.5 cm thickness.
- In surf foil, it is a large wing for sizes from 75 to 85 kg.
- In wing, it is a large wing for sizes from 75 to 85 kg.
The XXL has a wingspan of 100 cm with a (projected) surface area of 2175 cm2 (2487 cm2 developed), and a volume of 4.26 L. The surface area is large with a very forgiving profile of 3.5 cm thickness.
- In surf foil, it is a very large wing for sizes over 85kg and small waves.
- In wing, it is a very large wing for sizes over 85kg and very light wind.
Note: These wings are compatible with our V1, V2, PRO and Titanium fuselages.
Screws not included, your needs are: FRONT WING SCREWS 1x (M6x20MM) + 1x (M6x16MM) + 1x (M6x12MM)
Understanding their shapes
The voluminous shape of our wings favors low-speed flight. You can push them above 20 knots without difficulty, but that's not the point. A beginner feels good at 12 knots. Beyond that, the drops are spectacular and it's better to see them coming. So we calibrated the Rise's flight to be optimal around 12 knots. In wakeboarding, the Rise will fly from 3 knots with a little opposition, it's just crazy.
In practice, a beginner in foiling will make the same mistakes as in classic surfing: too low in the wave, too straight, etc. The resulting loss of speed will be easily tolerated by the Rise foil, whereas a more efficient foil will suddenly stall.
From the front, the Rise is cambered so the tips don't pierce the water and cause it to break. This is a big plus for beginners who have trouble judging their height. And the profile adopted is extremely forgiving, eliminating all the guesswork of starting out.
Construction
Our wings are made of 80% fiberglass and 20% 3K Prepreg carbon, with more than 15 layers of fiber in total. An economical technology dominated by fiberglass made possible by the significant thickness which will mechanically limit the flex. No need for high doses of carbon for the Rise to be rigid. High stress points like sockets and connections are reinforced with Kevlar to resist tearing and glass for tolerance. Molded at high pressure and high temperature on a foam core, our wings are virtually indestructible. Both rigid and buoyant, they are the perfect balance between low weight and infinite durability.
All our wings and stabs have soft "tips." Their ends are rounded and voluminous to limit danger. We urge you to exercise extreme caution regardless. Likewise, the trailing edges are blunt to avoid sharp edges.
Buying guide
For whom?
A beginner will love the smooth ride of this foil. Everything is simpler and safer.
For what ?
This is a wing for beginners, but also for progression. It's not just a school foil that will hit a plateau after your fifth session.
- In surf foiling, it's an ultra-simple, smooth, and maneuverable wing. Really easy to hook, difficult to unhook, it's a forgiving model based on profiles proven in the world of military aviation.
- In wing and kite foil, it is the perfect wing to learn to fly and work on your maneuvers.
- When pumping, you have lift. It's not a fast foil, but our many videos attest to its qualities. We'll pump slowly, using our legs more than our cardio. And above all, without making mistakes, because the most costly thing in pumping is making mistakes.
Here is a view of the ideal template for each wing and each use:
The M has a wingspan of 70cm, a volume of 1500cm2, a thickness of 3.0cm and a volume of 2.0L.
- In surf foil: less than 65kg.
- In wing: less than 65kg.
- Kite foil: suitable for all sizes.
The L has a wingspan of 80cm, a width of 1900cm2, a thickness of 3.5cm and a volume of 3.1L.
- In surf foil: from 65kg to 75kg.
- In wing: from 65kg to 75kg.
The XL has a wingspan of 90cm, a capacity of 2100cm2, a thickness of 3.5cm and a volume of 3.6L.
- In surf foil: from 75kg to 85kg.
- In wing: from 75kg to 85kg.
The XXL has a wingspan of 100cm, a width of 2500cm2, a thickness of 3.5cm and a volume of 4.3L.
- In surf foil: more than 85kg.
- In wing: more than 85kg.
A larger foil will be used in lower ranges and soft conditions. Conversely, a smaller foil will be used in those recommended for rough conditions. The important thing to remember is that the choice of your wing depends on your size, which requires lift, and your average speed, which generates lift.
When pumping from dock start or beach start, we recommend the wings as follows:
- The XL: from 65kg to 85kg.
- XXL: over 85kg.-
In DW, we tend to think that bigger is more efficient. In moderation, of course, but yes, that's often the rule.
Which quiver?
The Rise foil is ideal for all boards without restriction. It goes without saying that it will go well with an easy board like a HIPE, a Zuma, or a Lance in SUP foil or wing.
Positioning the foil?
For GONG foils, place the plate in the rear third for surfing, SUP and kiting, and in the middle of the US rails for winging.
The further you move it forward, the more it raises the board. The further you move it back, the more the nose of the board dives.
Be careful not to move it too far forward. We often tend not to let our back foot work, especially when coming from a kite foil. However, moving the foil back a little forces us to put more weight on our back foot, giving us a more harmonious attitude and reducing the effort.
