- Wing
Let’s explore the differences between the Dacron, Aramid, and Aramid X constructions to help you make the best decision based on your needs.
Gradation in Performance, Technicity, and Cost.

Wing foiler: Malo, GONG team rider, with a Droid Aramid X, Cruzader Point LW and Veloce foil setup.
Droid Perf Series with a Dacron construction:
- Simple and Natural to Pump: The Perf Series construction offers a very natural “breathing” profile, making pumping intuitive and accessible, especially for average pumping skills.
- Economic Option: This is the most affordable construction, offering solid durability without breaking the bank.
- Less Dynamic: Due to its reduced stiffness, the Droid Perf Series is less reactive and delivers less crisp feedback in your hands. This is perfect if you prioritize simplicity and ease over ultimate performance.

Wing foiler: Ahiri, GONG team rider, with a Cruzader Point, Droid Perf Series 2024V2 and a Sirus L front wing.
Droid Team Series with a UPE200 construction:
- The Predecessor to Aramid: UPE200 wings are lightweight and perform well, but they require high inflation pressure to achieve optimal stiffness.
- Solid Performance: While slightly dated compared to the Aramid series, UPE wings still provide a good balance between weight and control.
Droid Team Series with a UPE Aramid construction:
- Rigid Frame with a "Softer" Canopy: The Aramid construction combines an ultra-rigid frame with a more forgiving canopy (same as Perf), offering a balance of power and forgiving.
- Dynamic Feel: The wing is more responsive in your hands compared to Perf, but the pumping technique requires a bit more precision to unlock its full potential.
- A Step Up in Performance: Ideal if you’re looking for a more powerful and responsive wing without jumping straight to the technical demands of the Aramid X.
Wing foiler: Bastien, GONG Team rider, with a HIPE Stunt and Droid Aramid.
Droid Pro Team Series with a UPE Aramid X construction:
- Maximum Rigidity and Performance: With both a stiff frame and an ultra-rigid canopy, the Aramid X represents the pinnacle of performance.
- Different Pumping Technique: These wings demand a more precise and deliberate pumping technique to generate speed efficiently.
- Ultimate in Nervosity: If you’re aiming for the best handling and performance in light winds, the Aramid X is unmatched but requires a more advanced skill level to fully exploit.

Wing foiler: Malo, GONG Team rider, with a Cruzader Point and Droid Aramid X.
Recommended Droid for you
Perf Series : If you prioritize ease of use and a natural pumping feel, while keeping costs in check, the Perf is a great entry point.
Team Series (UPE200): A solid middle-ground option if you want to combine lightweight performance with affordability (old model) but don’t mind the need for high inflation pressure.
Team Series (Aramid): If you’re ready for a more responsive and dynamic wing without jumping into a highly technical setup, the Aramid is an excellent choice.
Pro Team Series (Aramid X): If you’re focused on maximizing performance and can adapt to a more precise pumping technique, the Aramid X will give you the ultimate experience in power, glide, and responsiveness.
In other words:
- For ease of use and affordability: Perf.
- For a balance of performance and value: UPE.
- For dynamic and powerful sessions: Aramid.
- For top-tier performance and responsiveness: Aramid X.
