FORUM : about surfboards volume !!!

An interesting discussion on the forum between l’Ours and David about the volume of surf boards.
L’Ours: “Hello,
I think the most important thing about surfing for every body and that we never tell is that you have to choose between catch some waves or make duck dive. People who surf every day since a long time don’t have this kind of question in head.
Make 50 duck dive is normal, as catch waves in three oar strokes with a 25/30L surf board. If you are not part of this category, it’s normal. You’re like 95% of surfers, a person who don’t do just this and who can love surfing anyway.
For you, you have to choose between duck dive and take-off. The board which doing perfectly both, will do it just in some kind of conditions: waves perfectly placed so easy take-off with minimum volume.
Guys surfing every time are in good physical conditions and read with precision the spot to be at the right and perfect point for catching waves. For you, make the choice of reduced volume it’s like spend your time watch the others surfing, see all the years gone without significant progress, delaying the arrival of a surf boards which you can make duck dive with ease. Time is now for boards with volume. Time is gone for sinkers. Thanks” David: “I relive when surfing since SUP made me understand that a big volume is not a problem, especially in Méditerranée. I have experienced a lot of years of frustration surfing some surf boards more appropriate to Rob Machado than my skills and the conditions where I surf. Just to let you know, my every day short board is 60L volume (Catch Bamby), and my “perf” short board is 45L. I recovered the taste and the desire to join the peak easily, and to surf without constantly pumping. Thanks for the awareness.” Advisor : l’Ours et GONG Surfboards.
