FEEDBACK: KARMEN FSP PRO

To move things up a gear in ShortSUP while keeping paddling comfort, Emanuele opted for the Karmen FSP Pro 7’11. He gives us a little feedback on his first sessions.

“I’m 80Kg with an average level and I bought the Karmen 7’11 with 105L. Well, what can I say, I’m really happy about it. My previous board was a compact ShortSUP whose shape was close to a Mob, so the Karmen is different with a stiffer and lighter carbon construction, while my previous board was of a cheap construction, so I can’t really compare the shapes only. However, I was worried about the fact that the Karmen would be less stable, in fact I was first tempted to buy the 120L one. In the end the 105L is just a little bit less stable than my previous board, but it’s faster at paddling and this is important when you’re in the waves.

The take off is easier with the Karmen, it’s faster and you can’t nose-dive because of the rocker and the volume at the center. While surfing, it’s fast and easy, cutbacks are lightning fast with the board that finishes easy under the butt dropping fast. Now I’m using it with a three fin setup. I haven’t tried its quad setup yet.”
