FEEDBACK: FRONT WING FLUID L

The program of the Fluid is simple: push your limits in surfs and tricks thanks to a lightning top speed and a maneuverability that allows an intuitive and progressive rail to rail. Our ambassador François shares his first impressions on the Fluid L Front Wing mounted with the Fluid 43 Stab under his Lethal FSP Pro 5’1.

“The spot is quite choppy but with a good wind of 17-19 knots to test my Fluid L Front wing of 1200 cm² and the Fluid Stab 43cm. I hesitated a bit because the gusts did not exceed 21/22 knots. They’re closer to 20 knots. In the end I went for the Fluid L, at worst I could have switched to the XLS.

Low Range

My fears were quickly extinguished, the Fluid L Front Wing has a very good low range. Just let the board slide and hop, a bit of pumping and it takes off. I was amazed for my weight (88 kg).

Once in the air, you can go for it. It does not stall for a second! It‘s heading upwind strongly like the XLS for example and it slices through the choppy water with incredible softness. I had strange sensations at the start with the Fluid Stab, more playful, more nervous perhaps… less stable than my Veloce Stab 43cm? After flying for 30 minutes, I’m used to the whole thing and to be honest, I’ve never done 360’s so radically and quickly as with this Fluid L Front Wing!! Boooooooooom, full throttle with an impressive “ease”! In bumps (50cm max) it lifts less than the 1400, not as easy to relaunch because it needs speed. On the other hand, in pretty waves and / or strong wind, it must be completely crazy :-))

Maneuverability

In addition it turns on the spot if you are on the right “wave” (bump) and the Fluid Stab is incredibly precise. You turn like on a surfboard. Whether in skaty surfs or long curves it does not stall! I love it !

In the same session, I tried a friend’s Curve LT Front Wing, and clearly, the difference is obvious in lift … in the light wind, the LT is doing better but compared to a 1400 XLS… I prefer the XLS In short, it will be crazy under the right conditions. At the end of the session, I had a look at my GPS track: I went from 19.4km / h in average travel speed with the Curve LT Front Wing to 21.7km / h with the Fluid L Front Wing. There is no contest. Have a good ride everyone! ”
