A choice that makes all the difference!
The same board can feel very different depending on the fin: looser through turns, more stable on the nose, or delivering more drive.
The 13 models in our range let you fine-tune this balance through differences in shape, rake, base, and depth.
We explain all these parameters in our complete guide to single fins. The recommendations below are based on these principles.

Choosing your single fin model
Not all single fins deliver the same ride. Some are designed to lock the board into the pocket and hold the nose, others to draw long lines, and others to offer a more playful feel. The following recommendations will help you choose the fin that brings out the best in your longboard.

Choosing your single fin size
For large retro logs and noseriders, sizes from 9” to 11.5” make the most sense. The more you prioritize noseriding, hold, and stability, the larger the fin should be.
As always:
- bigger = more stability, more hold, more control
- smaller = more glide, more freedom, more maneuverability
A simple rule of thumb is to take the board’s length in feet and add roughly one to get the fin size in inches. This works particularly well for classic longboards and noseriders.
The right choice therefore depends on the board, the surfer’s weight, the speed of the waves, and how you want to surf.

Experiment and learn
Depending on what you want from your sessions and the conditions at your spot, other combinations can work perfectly well. Trying different fins helps you better understand both your equipment and your surfing style.
