Bags and covers - Paddle covers

The paddle cover is an essential accessory when traveling with your gear in search of new spots. The various paddle constructions available on the market are fragile and prone to damage. The transport covers we offer are of high quality and are designed to protect your paddle, helping you keep it in good condition for a long time without scratches or damage.

Properly protecting your paddle during transport is crucial, whether you're traveling by bike, car, or plane on a surf trip. It’s often when out of the water that equipment gets damaged.

There are many solutions available depending on your needs and budget. You should always choose a cover based on the length of your paddle and whether it’s a one-piece or three-piece design. Always opt for a cover that matches or is slightly longer than your paddle.

While the primary purpose of a cover is to protect your paddle from shocks and sunlight, it also makes it easier to handle, carry by hand, or slide into your board bag without risk of damage.

At GONG, we offer covers adapted to all parts of your paddle. We also provide a wide range of sizes to fit not only GONG paddles but also those from other brands.

If you're unsure, you can find the internal dimensions listed on each cover’s product page. This allows you to easily compare them with your paddle’s dimensions.

Choosing the most suitable cover for your paddle depends on several criteria:

• The total length, to fully cover the paddle
• Whether the paddle is adjustable or a single piece

For optimal protection during travel, it's better to have a slightly oversized cover than one that’s too small. This allows room to add extra padding or accessories at the ends to provide additional shock protection. For example, you can wrap a poncho or towel around the blade and handle—parts that are especially prone to damage.
However, a cover that’s too large may fail to protect your paddle properly. The paddle shouldn't move around inside; it should stay securely in place where the reinforcements are located

Clogged by sand, corroded by salt and moisture—zippers are the most common reason paddle covers stop functioning.

To extend your cover’s lifespan, we recommend regularly rinsing the zipper with fresh water, even if it features a salt-resistant zipper. The same care is recommended for wetsuit zippers.

You can also use Zip Care on your cover’s zippers. This maintenance product is ideal for both plastic and metal zippers. Its unique brush applicator allows you to apply the product between the zipper teeth and physically remove dirt, salt residue, and dust that may cause blockages.

A must-have to keep your gear watertight in all conditions!
