Wing Droid SP Aramid CZ - Pro Team Series - Pink
Description
Programme
Power, speed and high-performance slalom with an Aramid and Code Zero wing built to accelerate hard and stay perfectly locked in.
Overview
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 is a powerful, fast and extremely stable wing, designed for riders who want to accelerate hard, hold speed and push their slalom performance further. Its shape concentrates the pull forward, while its Aramid structure and Code Zero canopy create a direct connection with the wing and remarkable profile stability under load.
As soon as you sheet in, the Droid SP delivers solid, consistent drive. The forward, concentrated draft places the power where it is most effective, while the area shifted forward generates the torque needed to accelerate quickly. The wing locks in immediately and keeps its power as speed builds.
The Aramid CZ construction brings this geometry fully to life. The Aramid leading edge and strut provide a very stable structure, while the Code Zero canopy drastically limits shape distortion under load. The profile stays locked in, the power remains constant, and every input from the rider is directly converted into speed.
The larger-diameter strut and the reinforced connection between the leading edge and the strut deliver maximum structural stiffness. Load transfer is immediate, and pumping becomes especially efficient for building speed quickly. This architecture gives the wing the ability to stay perfectly locked in as the pace intensifies.
The refined rear two-thirds and open tips free up the airflow and allow the Droid SP to maintain fast, continuous glide. The refined tips make line changes easier while keeping the wing very stable on long reaches. The result is a feel perfectly suited to slalom: acceleration, high average speed and precise control.
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 brings together power, speed, stability and precision in a Pro Team Series wing designed for riders who want to accelerate hard and stay perfectly locked in at very high speed.
Strut
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 features an Aramid strut, fully designed around the boom to deliver direct, powerful and extremely precise handling. Its triple-section profile progressively supports the load, while its diameter remains larger than that of the Droid X to reinforce the structure and support even more power. The profile is maintained over around 45% of the strut, then the rear third tapers off to free up glide. This architecture, combined with a reinforced connection to the leading edge, keeps the structure very stable when the wing is loaded, with immediate transmission of the rider's input.

Profile
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 features a slightly tighter profile at the front to slice through the air more efficiently and unlock acceleration. The draft is concentrated at a precise point to deliver solid drive and clear, predictable feedback through the boom. Over the rear two thirds, the profile is noticeably refined to lighten the pressure on the back hand and support the build-up of speed. The Aramid structure, combined with the Code Zero canopy, holds this geometry precisely under load to keep the wing locked-in, powerful and highly direct, with progressive sheeting in and out that is easy to control.

Outline
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 keeps its wingspan and overall chord, while redistributing the surface area towards the centre and front of the wing. This geometry delivers well-directed pull, torque and sharp acceleration, while preserving the compact format that defines the Droid’s DNA. The Aramid structure reinforces this outline’s ability to hold its shape under load and makes power delivery more direct: pumping is sharp, the wing loads up quickly for pop, and the wing retains the lift needed to support jumps.

Tips
The tips of the Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 feature a natural opening that allows them to spill better under load and free up the airflow. Their refined shape reduces inertia at the extremities, while the Aramid structure enhances the wing’s precision and stability in high-speed phases. The Droid gains in glide, upwind ability and liveliness, with fast rotations and very direct repositioning through transitions, tricks and surf.

Buying guide
Who is it for?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 is aimed at experienced riders looking for a powerful, fast and extremely stable wing for slalom, speed and committed riding.
It really comes into its own when you want to hold your line, accelerate hard and maintain maximum speed on long reaches. Its Aramid structure and Code Zero canopy deliver a direct connection and remarkable consistency under load, so you can make the most of every racing phase.
What is it for?
Its main programme is slalom and high-speed riding. The power is concentrated towards the front for rapid acceleration, while the reinforced structure and Code Zero canopy keep the profile in shape with very little deformation.
It also suits very fast freeride and committed riding, when the priority is to build speed, hold a course and keep the wing perfectly locked in as the wind picks up.

Why choose an Aramid CZ construction?
The Aramid leading edge and strut provide a light and very stable structure, capable of transmitting the rider’s input efficiently.
The Code Zero canopy takes profile stability even further: its very low stretch means the wing keeps its geometry precisely as load and speed increase. The result is constant power, continuous acceleration and extremely precise handling.
The Droid SP Aramid CZ is therefore built above all around consistent performance: the wing stays locked in and transfers the rider’s input directly, from take-off right through to top speed.
Understanding our wing range
Choose the Plus if your priority is ease of use, learning and highly accessible versatility.
Choose the Droid Perf Series if you are looking for a compact and dynamic wing to progress in freestyle, freeride and committed riding.
Choose the Droid Light if you are primarily looking for a light, lively and easy-to-handle wing, with an especially pleasant airy feel during active handling phases.
Choose the Droid Aramid if you want more stiffness, precision, speed and efficiency, with a Triple Ripstop canopy that still retains some progressive feel.
Choose the Droid Aramid X if your focus is surf freestyle, jumps, pop and a very direct response, with a high-performance-oriented construction.
Choose the Droid SP Aramid CZ if your priority is power, speed, stability and slalom. Its Code Zero canopy and reinforced structure are designed to maintain a very stable geometry when the wing is heavily loaded.
What size should you choose?
Choose your size according to your weight, usual wind conditions, your level, and the efficiency of your foil and board.
The Droid SP Aramid CZ is designed to deliver a lot of efficiency and retain its power as speed increases. It is therefore important to choose an area suited to your wind range rather than systematically oversizing the wing.
A larger size will be useful if you want more power on take-off and to build speed quickly. A more compact area will let you keep more control and speed as the wind builds.

Which foil with the Droid SP Aramid CZ?
In the V3 Atmo range, go for fast, high-performance foils capable of making the most of the SP’s power and speed.
For slalom and speed: Ypra Race V3 Atmo. It is the most logical pairing for building a speed-oriented combo, with a foil designed to accelerate hard and remain highly efficient at high speed.
For high-performance freerace: Fluid V3 Atmo. It offers an excellent balance of speed, glide and maneuverability, with behaviour suited to riders who want to keep strong performance while enjoying more freedom in their lines.
The choice of front wing size then depends on your weight, your level and your goal: a larger surface makes take-off easier, while a smaller surface lets you prioritise speed and maneuverability.
Which board with the Droid SP Aramid CZ?
To make the most of its full potential, go for a stiff, light board with excellent glide, capable of transmitting pressure cleanly and maintaining speed on long reaches.
For slalom and race: Racer Hollow Carbon. This is the dedicated competition board for outright speed, designed for course racing, slalom and freerace. Its Hollow Full Carbon construction delivers the stiffness and low inertia needed to maintain maximum speed and efficiency.
For freerace: Cruzader Diamond Hollow Carbon. Its mid-length format combines glide, efficiency and responsiveness, with a real ability to accelerate while still feeling natural and comfortable underfoot. It lets you make the most of the Droid SP’s power with a more versatile approach than the Racer.
The logic is simple: Racer for competition and maximum speed, Cruzader Diamond for freerace and high-speed versatility.
Which boom should you choose?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ is designed exclusively around a boom and remains compatible with GFS V2 and GFS V3 systems.
The Carbon Boom offers the best balance of stiffness, lightness, precision and versatility. It is the most balanced choice for getting the most out of the SP in fast riding and slalom.
The Full Carbon Boom takes the connection with the wing even further. Its high stiffness delivers an extremely direct response, particularly valuable when you are looking for maximum precision and the most immediate power transfer possible.
The 2-Piece Carbon Boom keeps a stiff and precise feel while making transport, storage and travel easier.
Which leash?
A 5’5 to 8’ wing leash will suit most uses.
A short leash lets you recover the wing quickly after a fall, which is especially useful in freestyle when attempts come one after another. A longer leash leaves more distance between the foil and the wing during a fall.
Check its condition regularly and replace it as soon as it shows signs of wear. The leash is an essential part of your safety setup.
Do not leave your wing flapping unnecessarily in the wind at the end of the leash, and never try to stop the wing abruptly by the leash in the waves.
Harness or not?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ is designed to be used with a harness. Its level of power and efficiency are designed to transfer load effectively into the harness and allow the rider to hold the wing over long riding phases.
In slalom and race, a harness is therefore almost essential to make the most of its full potential. It greatly reduces arm fatigue, helps maintain more speed on long reaches and keeps a powerful wing perfectly locked in. Without a harness, you will not be able to fully benefit from the SP’s power and efficiency.
All our wings feature dedicated attachment points for harness lines. Start with a generous length to make hooking in and out easier, then gradually shorten the length as you gain experience.
Go for a light, low-bulk harness and a thin line dedicated to wing use. The goal is to relieve the arms without limiting freedom of movement, especially in transitions and maneuvers.
Lines with a 24 to 28 cm distance between the strut and the bottom of the V will be perfect. A length of 30 to 32 cm makes getting started easier. A small-diameter rope and thin tubing are essential because windsurf lines, for example, are too heavy and stiff, and therefore dangerous in tacks and other tricks.
Need a spare bladder?
It is not essential for everyday use, but having a compatible bladder can be useful when travelling or if you ride far from a repair point.
Bladders, valves and other maintenance parts are available separately to extend the life of your wing.
A repair kit is also supplied so you can deal quickly with small punctures.
What mistakes should you avoid?
Do not choose the Droid SP Aramid CZ solely for its construction level. Its real value appears when you are able to make the most of its power, speed and stability at high speed.
Also avoid choosing too large an area to compensate for a foil or board that is not well suited. A coherent, properly sized combo will let you make better use of the wing’s speed and potential.
Finally, always respect the recommended inflation pressures. The Aramid structure and Code Zero canopy already ensure excellent profile stability under load: overinflating it brings no benefit.
Already equipped: why add a Droid SP Aramid CZ?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ really comes into its own when you want to add to your quiver a wing dedicated to speed, slalom and constant power.
Its construction transforms the Droid’s behaviour into a true performance tool: the Code Zero canopy keeps its geometry, the reinforced structure transfers input directly, and the wing stays perfectly locked in as speed increases.
It therefore naturally complements a surf-freestyle-oriented Droid Aramid X or another more versatile wing. The SP takes over when your priority becomes accelerating, holding speed and optimising every metre of your line.

5 windows

The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 features five generously sized windows, designed to provide clear visibility of competitors and the race environment. They are especially useful for keeping an eye on riders around you on the start line, anticipating crossings and better controlling your position before and during the key phases of slalom. A real advantage for improving race awareness and safety, without affecting the wing's behaviour.
Semi-rigid downwind textile handle

Almost rigid, the downwind handle offers a more precise, more direct grip to improve wing control in freefly and surf. It lets you control the wing better with one hand while still retaining enough flexibility to stay comfortable in lulls.
The new oval stitching and added reinforcements at the anchor points distribute loads more efficiently across the leading edge, improving the durability of the whole assembly.
The Dyneema leash attachment is now positioned on the canopy side of the handle. This keeps the leash clearer of the grip area and makes it less intrusive on your hands in freefly.
Fast inflation with the One Pump Max Flow system

The leading edge and centre strut are connected by the One Pump system to inflate the whole wing quickly from a single valve. Once the wing is pressurised, the clip allows the two bladders to be isolated so the wing retains buoyancy in the event of damage to the strut or leading edge.
A second valve is integrated into the strut to speed up deflation. Simply open the leading edge and strut valves to release the air quickly and make folding and packing easier.
To preserve the wing's structure, always make sure to deflate the strut at the same time as the leading edge and never leave the strut pressurised on its own.
Fiberglass mini battens

Fiberglass mini battens are integrated into the trailing edge to effectively limit flutter and maintain the profile all the way to the end of the canopy.
They stabilise the trailing edge, improve profile hold and promote cleaner airflow to keep the wing precise and efficient, even as speed increases.
Lightweight, durable and easy to replace, they also make it easy to maintain your wing and extend its performance over time.
Camera safety loops

Discreet nylon safety attachments are integrated on each tip and close to the strut to secure your camera when mounted on the leading edge or on the strut with a suitable mount.
Their positioning is designed to keep the leash out of the camera's field of view and avoid any interference while riding. This lets you film your sessions from several angles with a clean, secure setup, with no risk of losing your camera in a crash.
Repair kit
A repair kit is supplied with your wing so you can carry out routine repairs and extend its lifespan.
It includes patches suited to bladders and fabrics, handy for quick repairs in the event of a small puncture, cut or tear.
Carry bag
The wing comes with a practical, durable carry bag, designed to make packing, transport and storage between sessions easier.
Its volume makes it easy to store the folded wing with its accessories, while its compact format makes getting to the spot easier and reduces bulk in the vehicle or at home. Please note, the bag is not compatible with a wing stored with the boom fitted.
10 years of spare parts availability
At GONG, durability is part of the design brief from the very beginning. But making a wing last also means being able to maintain and repair it over time.
That is why we are committed to offering the components needed to maintain our wings for 10 years: bladders, valves, fabrics and specific parts remain available to extend the lifespan of your equipment as much as possible.
If needed, you have two options:
- Our GONG workshop can diagnose your wing and carry out the necessary repairs.
- Spare parts are available to order so you can carry out maintenance yourself or have the repair done by your usual workshop.
If a reference is temporarily unavailable, we do everything necessary to restock it as quickly as possible.
A well-maintained wing stays high-performing for longer, retains its value and can keep being ridden for many years, including on the second-hand market.

Delivery
Who is the Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 for?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 is aimed at experienced riders looking for a very powerful, fast and perfectly stable wing for slalom, racing and high-speed riding.
It really comes into its own when you want to make the most of the wing’s power, hold long runs and maintain maximum speed as the load and wind increase.
What is the difference between the Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 and the Droid SP Aramid CZ 2026?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ 2027 keeps the powerful, speed-oriented character of the previous generation, with a reworked shape to boost acceleration, glide and stability under load.
The forward profile is slightly tightened, and the draft is moved further forward and made more compact to better direct the pull. The rear two thirds are refined to free up glide and maintain power that stays easy to control as speed builds.
The surface area is redistributed towards the centre and the front, while the tips are opened up and refined to improve spill and reduce inertia. The strut also features a reworked geometry with a larger section than that of the Droid X, to support more power and limit unwanted deformation.
The connection between the leading edge and the strut also benefits from a heavily reinforced zone to maximise the overall rigidity of the wing. Combined with the Code Zero canopy, this architecture allows the SP 2027 to remain perfectly locked-in and consistent at high speed.
Is it suitable for freestyle and jumps?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ can handle jumps and committed maneuvers, but that is not its primary purpose.
Its shape is first and foremost designed to maintain power, accelerate and stay stable at high speed. It can therefore support jumps effectively when your priority remains speed and power, but riders mainly looking for pop, rotations and freestyle will be better off going for a Droid Aramid X.
How does it perform in light wind?
The Droid SP Aramid CZ delivers very good pumping efficiency thanks to its power and highly stable structure.
The area concentrated towards the centre and front generates torque to get the board up and going quickly, while the Aramid structure transfers input efficiently.
It can therefore be used in light conditions with a suitable foil and board, but its programme remains clearly focused on power and speed, rather than chasing the absolute minimum wind.
How does it handle when the wind picks up?
This is one of the Droid SP Aramid CZ’s strong points. Its larger strut diameter, reinforced connection between the leading edge and the strut, and Code Zero canopy allow it to remain extremely stable as the load increases.
Power stays consistent, the profile keeps its geometry, and the wing maintains precise support as speed builds. This lets you hold your line and keep accelerating without any marked change in the wing’s behaviour.
What does the Aramid CZ construction bring compared with a Droid in Dacron?
The 85 g/m² Aramid leading edge and strut provide a light structure that stays extremely stable under load.
This construction absorbs very little of the rider’s input: pumping becomes more direct, acceleration is sharper, and the profile holds its shape better when the wing is heavily loaded.
The Code Zero canopy pushes profile stability even further. Its very low stretch keeps the geometry extremely consistent as load and speed increase. The Droid SP Aramid CZ therefore delivers constant power, precision and efficiency at high speed.
Why is the Droid SP's strut bigger?
The strut on the Droid SP Aramid CZ has a larger diameter than on the Droid Aramid X.
This reinforced section is directly tied to the SP's programme: it supports more power and load while limiting unwanted deformation as the wing accelerates.
Combined with the reinforced connection between the leading edge and the strut, it creates a particularly stable structure for slalom and committed riding.
Why is the leading edge / strut connection reinforced?
The connection zone between the leading edge and the strut features a particularly large bonding area to maximise the stiffness of the wing’s core.
This architecture improves continuity between the two structural elements and limits unwanted movement when the wing is heavily loaded.
The benefit is immediate at speed: power is held more effectively, support is more precise, and the wing maintains its stability on long reaches.
