Airton Cozzolino Lopes is a super talented kitesurfer who excels in various disciplines. He was born in 1994 on the island of Sal, on the Cape Verde archipelago, where the Atlantic winds provide exceptional surfing conditions. In 2011, he won the Kitesurfing World Championship in the waveriding category. He continued to rack up wins in the GKA Wave & Strapless Freestyle Tour, as well as the Tarifa Strapless Kitesurfing Pro in 2016. A win which opened a series of 3 world titles in wave riding, in 2017, 2018 and 2019. He then reached the summit in the Strapless Big Air category in which he clinched the world title in 2022 and 2023.

Airton added more kitesurfing world titles to his list of achievements in 2017 and 2019. Even today he continues to dominate his sport and sets ambitious goal, in line with the waterman he has become.
